Excellent location in the middle of the « Monumental City ». Very courteous and helpful personnel. Excellent buffet breakfast. The room was very clean, comfortable and charming.
If you go by car, do not chose this place. Getting up the narrow streets is a nightmare, parking is hell and if you end up having space at the small parking space you might end up having your car scratched as it happened to me. In many years checking in and out of hotels, I have rarely seen a reception attendant looking at arriving guests, loaded with suitcases and not moving a finger to help at any time. Frosty reception guy . The heating & aircon temperature is controlled from the reception which is very frustrating. Lastly we had no view at all from the window. Strolling through the streets in the amazing city of Caceres , I could spot various places with charm and history which would have been a much better choice than the Parador Caceres.
Good hotel but not a good location if yoou have a car. Access to the old town is restricted by very narow oneway streets. Parking is available half a mile away if you can find it. It also costs around âŹ15 and the garage is pretty tight.
We were not able to stay in the parador because it is under construction and completely closed. We had a paid reservation and they cancelled. However, they did provide an alternative hotel of similar quality at the same price, and we were quite well pleased with the substitution.
Parking is off site, so be prepared to lug your suitcases for a bit of a walk. The hotel, however, is amazingly nice. The rooms are slightly above average, but the building itself is a 14th century masterpiece. Breakfast is decent. The little lounge cafe is great to have for an afternoon tea or evening cocktail. The annual medieval festival was underway during our stay. I woke up to parishioners singing at 6am mass. It was a very memorable experience
It is a beautiful property. The city is amazing and felt very safe. The twin beds pushed together was a disappointment and the staff seemed a bit unwelcoming.
