We initially booked legacy room. Which we were very disappointed with it it looked like a motel slightly freshened up, Expedia really didn’t give a lot of pictures to show the room for legacy and are anticipations were not what it was . Possibly they need to show more pictures of the legacy room on the site. Luckily, the front desk upgraded us to an available deluxe room, which was very nice.!! The deluxe room was very comfortable and stylish and had all the accommodations needed. The only note I wanted to make for the deluxe room. The floors were not washed in the bathroom and were dirty!

The Motor Lodge got taken over by Hyatt a while back and the change has been all to the good. The grounds are nicely taken care of, everything is clean, and the pools are excellent. Bonus points for pour-over coffee gear in the room.

The staff went above and beyond beginning with Luis who shared the wine partner list giving us an opportunity to plan our visits in the valley. The room was clean, comfortable, with robes and towels for the pools and spa tub. We enjoyed dining at Fleetwood, returning for a second night to try the well-reviewed pizza. Did not disappoint! This is a gem in Calistoga!

Our main issue was that the room with the terrace faces directly to the door of the rooms of the building in front of us. Other buildings are much better in this sense. When we chose the room with a terrace and paid extra , we also saw the rating and price per night we expected some level of privacy. But unfortunately We had to keep the curtains closed all the time , and never used the terrace. It’s true that others might not mind , but for us it’s important to have our private space when it comes to having a drink at night or a coffee in the morning and we choose the terrace for that but we felt it was a bit misleading. We stayed in Napa before (many times) in more expensive places and cheaper places than this, I would say this place was our worst in this aspect of privacy. The place has amenities that might appeal to others, but for us this is the top experience we look for in Napa and unfortunately it was the worst we experienced.

What a great experience. From check-in to departure, this place is A . We were upgraded to a king room overlooking pools and spa. The front desk staff was so pleasant and helpful. The restaurant On-site was excellent. Not one complaint! Best sleep at any hotel. We will be back.

Excellent outdoor mineral pools

Quiet comfortable hotel with excellent mineral water outdoor pools of varying temperature, open until late (10-30 pm). Comfy bath robes and complementary coffee and pastries in the morning were a nice touch. The hotel also offers discounts for wine tastings at local wineries.

My 2 girlfriends and I stayed for a birthday weekend. We stayed in a king camper room. I agree with another reviewer who said that this is not a four-star property. It’s a 2-3 star at best. We were able to check in early which was nice (we had spa appts before our check in time) but the woman at reception desk was not very helpful or welcoming. She never offered us a welcome drinks (that other guests got) and didn’t tell us anything about the property. The room was totally bare bones. The table was not set up properly and there was barely room to get your legs underneath to sit at or use. The metal banding around the table was broken in two different places and was sticking out to where you could get caught on it. There were two towels and two hand towels for the three of us so we had to ask for extras. Despite the room being fairly decent size, there were no extra chairs to sit on or conveniences like hooks to hang swimsuits or wet towels. The decor was very odd and included a hula hoop hanging on the wall, a cross stitching that said “no selfies in the bathroom” and a fabric warthog head. Very strange! If this was supposed to have a retro vibe, it really did not accomplish that. This was one of the few places in Calistoga where we could only stay for one night, so if that is your main criteria, then this may be the only option available. Just keep your expectations low.
