Centrally located art house

A home with works from local artists throughout. Off-street car parking available. Once inside, my home is accessible. I will be adding a ramp to make it fully accessible. You will have access to a fully equipped kitchen with some staples. My home is furnished with some antiques, so the furniture may have an aged patina. My home may not be suitable for young children (antiques/ art works/ adult content of some art works).

I am close to a small park, walking trails, a nature reserve and bike paths. My home is 9k from Canberra City and from Belconnen, close to Dickson restaurant precinct & public transport, adjacent to bike paths and nature reserve. This is a well established area, built in the 1970’s.

Great value for money

We were happy with the unique little house, that was clean and tidy. Arrived late and the owner had the house heated up ready for us, which was lovely. The beds are comfy and the kids really enjoyed the hot tub. The yard is safely enclosed for the dogs. The previous mentions are still issues like the squeaky bed and the drain in the shower.We had fun discussing the different art works. We would definitely be staying here again next time we are back in town.

Sweet and sour

Our stay in this unique art house was good. We loved what the owner is trying to do with the decor. It is unusual and quirky but the beds were comfortable and as we were at the folk festival that was important.The shower was tricky as a lot of water ended up on the floor through the shower curtain and the fact that the shower floor is higher than the surrounding floor! Terrifying for the elders in our group!

Wacky Neighbour

The rating would be higher if it wasnt for an uninvited guest barging there way into the accommodation our first night wantingto use the laundry, as she knows the door code and has no manners or boundaries. Reading through the other reviews more closely sounds like this isnt the first time she (a long term guest who stays in the outside caravan/studio and uses the house on occasion) has done this to paying guests, owner needs to set firm boundaries with this woman or advertise it as a share house. She was unremorseful and didnt understand that it was not ok, not knocking or asking if she could use the laundry, just came in. Felt very insecure having to block the front door and set entry indicators to ensure no one had come in while we were out. She also has a dog that barks pretty constantly. Despite that the house was spacious and had everything needed in the kitchen and laundry.Beds were comfortable, weird the king bed was squished under 2 fixed mirrored side tables though, not usable as a king in that position, more like set up for a double. Unless you want to risk bumping your head constantly, i recommend pulling the bed out and around as we had too.Shower room floods very easily, looks like a bath was removed under the shower and left over tiles put down without addressing the drain gradient.Location was good, 10-15mins to most attractions. Laundry was handy too.Was ok for us but probably wouldn't stay there again because of the wacky neighbour, unnerving.

Terrible scary experience

Already put in for refund. Property was so over run and a chook house with chicken in from garden which was over run with weeds. Rubbish bin upended. Driveway no longer there. No where for the dog and open paint cans on the back patio. Owners living in back yard and in the hour we were there someone tried to come inside, someone was swearing and yelling outside and my grandchild snd daughter were scared to stay so we packed and left and had to find alternate accommodation with friends of relatives. Very disappointed as we were to be there for three nights and lasted an hour.

Canberra Royal show dogs onboard

Quirky house, that took some getting used to, i did contact the agent/ owner the day before to say there was an extra adult , so as it was 3 bedrooms, there didnt seem to be any problems ? But only 2 rooms were made available, so the 3rd person decided to sleep on the couch. The slide bolts on the outside of the bedroom doors was unsettling as well. Not sure about the chickens in the front yard? And we were concerned about snakes, i did need to give the birds water on a couple of occasions, and they were a bit smelly. Parking could have been better. The bed in the second room, although very comfortable 😌, was super squeaky, and although it was funny 😁 it did keep others awake. That said there were many positives ! The kitchen was well equipped, the fridge was huge, it was 10 minutes to everywhere we needed to be, the yard although smallish, was safe and enabled our own dogs to stretch their legs and there were No issues with neighbouring pets. The lounge chairs were comfortable etc. For the price paid, it served its purpose really nicely, So quirky but comfortable, it needs to be remembered, this is someones home, not a motel ! We would book it again, thank you for having us and our multitude of 4 legged mutts.

Property was clean and tidy and good value for money,but it is not suitable for dogs. There are chickens in the back yard , that my dog could easily get to and 3 small rather aggressive dogs next door, who took exception to my dog. Thankfully she does not react .Unfortunately I was not able to let my dog off lead in the backyard.

It was so bad that we did not even stay there. Complaint lodged seeking full refund. Terrible property, terrible host, poor communication. Do not book this place, it’s falsely advertised. We did not feel safe in the house and booked another accommodation on the spot.
