Ideal for Principality or Castle Events

First off, the location of this hotel is unbeatable if you are attending events at Principality Stadium (especially entry gates 2 & 3) or the Castle. There are plenty of shops, bars & restaurants all within a 10 minute walk. The staff were lovely & helpful (especially Joey on reception), & we had breakfast included rate, which was fine for us (it had cereals, cheese & meat, yogurt, fruit, croissants, juice & full English items - we don't eat meat so can't comment on that, but what we had was good & set us up well for the day). We didn't eat otherwise at hotel (as so many restaurants nearby), but they have room service, bar&restaurant on site. There is no parking,so if you need this, book in advance on JustPark (there are nearby options or a Sainsbury's which is around £2 per 24 hours, the Uber is around £8 each way, but still LOADS cheaper if there's an event on). My daughter & I had a twin room suite, 327, which was huge. The rooms are quite dated but clean, the beds are comfy, they provided fans to help with heat, it was good to have our own sitting area & toiletries were good. The room was surprisingly quiet given the location. If I was being fussy, the sofa could be comfier & one sash window in lounge (one furthest from bedroom) was noisy (rattling) due to the wind, but we sorted this by using a towel & it didn't keep us awake. Given the price paid as everywhere had increased prices due to Lana Del Rey, who we were here to see, I felt it offered really good value overall

Front has stairs. No sign for the lift which was located on the side of the building. Old people were dragging their luggages on the stairs, and nobody's advised them. We asked, and only then that they pointed to the lift.

Reception were excellent and helpful on arrival.The hotel has lifts which was great as my case was heavy.We had a family room, a huge bed in one room and twins in the other room.It was very spacious and plenty of room.Both rooms had t.v.’s but we couldn’t get them to work so maybe needed new batteries in remote.The bedside lamps didn’t work in the kingsize bedroom either.The lighting was very poor in the rooms and the furniture and bathroom very dated but overall we would stay again.Breakfast was very good, buffet style with lots to choose from and couldn’t fault it.Checking out was very quick and easy.A pleasant stay at the angel hotel.

We have stayed here many times , but were so sad to see the poor state of the hotel this time. Wallpaper peeling off walls, ‘splash’ stains up the walls, out of order lifts, and an absolute lack of parking. No real advice was offered as to where we could park, and my husband ended up parking quite far away…… The room was perfectly clean, as was the bathroom, but the poor condition made it feel ‘grubby’ The breakfast was excellent, and everything was well presented. Upon check-out we found the receptionist to be rude, but when I returned to pick up our case they were very very friendly-maybe they were having a bad day!! Will probably not look to stay here again, as I feel this beautiful hotel needs a bit more care then is given
