Bedroom 2: Kingsize (5ft) Bed, Freeview TV, DVD Player Ensuite: Bath With Shower Attachment, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate available on request. Welcome pack.. Enclosed woodland garden (5 yards away), a patio at the back of the property and garden furniture. BBQ available on request. Private parking for 4 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a fenced pond in the garden, 15 yards away.. Woodpecker Rest is nestled on the edge of the quaint hamlet of Llechryd surrounded by woodland and set within the owners’ beautiful grounds with a walled garden, woodland garden and a wildlife pond. This semi-detached cottage is aptly named after the family of woodpeckers that frequent the garden. The property offers a modern, contemporary, galley-style kitchen complete with beams, which leads through to the bright and airy open-plan living/dining room. The first floor master bedroom has been lovingly furnished complete with en-suite facilities. On a morning, enjoy a freshly brewed coffee in the spacious sun room or a G&T on an evening to watch the birds.

A short walk away and you can be enjoying some home locally brewed ales from the village pub in Llechryd. Travelling 5 minutes north and you can discover the historic market town of Cardigan with its castle dating back to the late 11th century, with commanding views along the river and out towards the Cardigan Bay. Here you can find an excellent choice of eateries including the Michelin accredited Yr Hen Printworks and the always popular cafe Crwst. Poppit Sands is just around the corner complete with a golden sandy beach, perfect for building sandcastles, kayaking or surfing. A little further along the coastline is Newport Sands and Mwnt Beach, which really are worth the visit and spectacular to visit all year round.

Locally, a visit to Cenarth Falls really is not to be missed and if timed well, you can see the salmon leaping up the falls which really is a fantastic sight. Nearby is the Welsh Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran, which runs along the banks of the River Teifi made famous for coracle fishing. A great day out for all is the walled town of Tenby, complete with beach, cobbled streets and a host of eateries and craft shops. Folly Farm Zoo and Oakwood theme park are all within a 45-minute drive. Beach 4 miles. Shop, garage, pub and chip shop 0.75 miles.

An immaculate cottage in a fabulous location. Hosts John and Steph are so welcoming and John is like an encyclopedia of local knowledge, from best chippies, restaurants to best beaches and local markets. Our 15 yr old dog absolutely loved it and it's freedom. We will definitely be going back again.

Super place - clean, comfortable and a great location

Clear and friendly communication from the owner. A lovely peaceful location. We really enjoyed the little patio at the back and the sun room at the front. Kitchen has everything you want and it is all modern, relaxing, and very clean throughout.

We had such a lovely week here.

We had such a lovely week here. It was cold outside around 5 degrees but the cottage was lovely and warm. We wrapped up and went somewhere every day, just a short drive away. Poppit beach, with a cafe which sold amazing doughnuts. Aberporth and Mwnt beaches all lovely and dog friendly this time of year.We visited Cenarth Falls which was lovely and walked from Llechryd to Cilgerran along the river. We had fish and chips from the local chip shop which were great. Coming back to Woodpecker Rest late afternoon was lovely and the owners had thought of everything including the best welcome package we had ever had. We completely recharged our batteries.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short break in this warm and cosy cottage.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short break in this warm and cosy cottage. We had everything that we needed, and received a very warm welcome from the owner who lives next door. This is a dog friendly cottage and the owners are really helpful in suggesting dog friendly places to visit. Loads of places to visit within a very short distance, with or without a dog! The sun room is a beautiful addition to the property, not only giving you extra space to relax in, but also gives you a separate space to dry off from wet walks! There is plenty of outdoor space, with a patio, courtyard and enclosed (but not completely secure!) garden. There is so much in the area that we haven't seen yet, we would be happy to go back.
