This place was fantastic! Jess was a great host! It was so comfortable and clean. It is a small space but was plenty of room for our family. It would not be easy to cook a meal in the house even though it had a small kitchen. That worked for us because we went out or had heavy snacks. Loved the fact that he offered the beach gear!

My family came during Summer break and it was perfectly suited for our stay. Plenty of beach towels, toys, chairs, boogie boards and beach carts to use. Kitchen is well stocked, grill is clean and easy to use and can use outdoor seating area to eat. Grass area in the back yard is perfect for active kids and hot tub was clean and relaxing. Easy walk to the beach and town for stores and restaurants, can park your car and leave it your whole trip. We will be back!

Hospitality close to the beach

We enjoyed the use of beach toys and wagon (excellent selection), and how close the property was to a lovely beach! We also liked that the property had two twin beds for our teens, so they didn't have to share a bed. The beach and town were very close, but the neighborhood was quiet. Our host was very responsive and welcoming.

Exceeded expectations and was a fantastic vacation

Easily slept 3 adults. Cool, quiet, and comfortable. Plenty of towels for both bathing and beach use. Quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. Kitchen stocked with all the basics for cooking & dining. Courtyard for grilling, outdoor meals, time in the hot tub, reading and chatting. Super conveniently located and made it easy to walk to beach or to shops. Friendly Penny dog stole our hearts and was a highlight of the trip.

Carlsbad Hideout

This small, above garage unit was perfect for our family. It was the perfect size and had a great rooftop seating area. The owner was great and was attentive to all of our needs. We’ll be back in the near future for sure!

Perfect place in Carlsbad

This property was perfect for my college-aged son and me. It was just enough space and a block from the beach. The host is gracious and provides a washer/dryer for guests. There’s plenty of outdoor space as well and it’s walking distance from Carlsbad Village which offers plenty of restaurants and shopping. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice place, great location for an evening stroll along the boardwalk/on the beach and to what appeared to be old town Carlsbad. Walking distance to several restaurants too. I especially loved petting Penny. Such a sweet dog.

Fabulous Efficiency Apartment

My sister, cousin and I enjoyed our reunion there and were delighted at how the host thought of everything we needed. The space was arranged so that we felt comfortable. It was convenient to walk to the surfer's beach and along the sea wall and into Carlsbad for dining and shopping. The spa, outdoor area and the rooftop patio was a nice bonus! I would definitely stay here again.

Great Stay! Parked the car and never touched it until we left.

We had a nice stay in Carlsbad. You can walk to most everything you will need from the property. The only mishap was the electronic keypad to unlock the door decided to take a break at 10 pm on one of the evenings as we were returning from dinner. We were able to get it resolved. It was nice to have the beach chairs and a wagon to haul our items to the beach! Great Stay...

Great Spot!

Super cute place to stay. Having beach toys, a wagon, outdoor shower and pack-n-play was wonderful! Also the room darkening shades made it so easy to put a little one down before sunset. Was super quiet, comfortable and so close to the beach. Beach area was so easy to get to and beautiful. Would definitely stay again!

Loved how accurately close this place was to the beach, very walkable. It was also very walkable to the several shops and eateries on Carlsbad Village Dr. The place was very clean and surprisingly more spacious than expected.

Great Little Place

We stayed for a week in June of 2024. The unit is an apartment on top of a garage that is a secondary building on the property. Although it was a little tight for the four of us, the patio and outdoor area provided plenty of space to eat meals and just hang out. Our host, Jess, was very accommodating. The washer and dryer in the garage came in very handy. Also, he allowed us access to beach chairs, coolers, games and a wagon to drag it all down to the beach, which was only a block away. Wonderful location with many amenities within walking distance. The one negative was there was a fair amount of construction. Fortunately, they shut down at night and on the weekends, allowing for some quiet time. Would book again in a heartbeat!

Very nice property and location. A couple of blocks to walk to beach. Short, easy walk to Carlsbad Village. Pay attention to description of property regarding only street parking and mini-fridge/wine cooler/no oven. One couch and no table/chairs for dining. Not an issue for us but might be for some. Easy to access hot tub and large outdoor table to use along with a grill. Could see a limited view of ocean from small deck area with a couple of chairs and a table accessed by metal spiral staircase. Was satisfied with unit.

Comfortable, clean, great location

We stayed here during March. The property is accurately represented in the listing. It contained everything we needed - note that the kitchenette is small with small fridge, full size coffee maker and toaster. No oven. Room darkening shades were awesome. Hot tub was awesome. Roku on the TVs for streaming. One block walk to the beach. 15 minute walk to all the restaurants and shops in Carlsbad. Much recommended!

Better attention to detail needed

The location was great. It’s quite small so it works for 1 or 2 people. Unfortunately a new condo was built behind the house so there was no ocean view
big bummer. TV in the guest room was wonky and wouldn’t totally shut off so light was on all night. Had to put a towel over it to sleep. No coffee or cream/sugar, another real bummer. They did bring us coffee but we had to steal sugars from every restaurant we went to. FYI -you can’t park in the driveway which is kind of a drag when arriving and departing.
