The Lodge On The Carmel River
Enjoy and relax in this refurbished lodge on the Carmel River. Expansive views from every window captures the river as it meanders in harmony with the redwoods, sycamores and the ducks that inhabit this natural setting. The Lodge is only minutes from the charming village of Carmel Valley and 18 miles to from Carmel and Pebble Beach. Perfect for a getaway from your busy schedule~The Lodge harkens back to time when life was less hectic. The Lodge has a kayak and water tubes to go down the river for your use and out the back door or just enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine on the deck percheded above the river.
The perfect combo of a rustic cabin and updated amenities like kitchen and bath. Outdoor patios and spaces very welcoming. Location awesome! Not truly walking distance to the heart of the village but a great little road to get there for all the great eating spots, wineries, art. We loved it!
We recently stayed at this rustic rental home by the river, and it was exactly what we needed for a quiet, nature-filled escape. The location is absolutely stunningâtucked away in a peaceful setting with the soothing sound of the river just steps away. Mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee and evenings by the fire pit were highlights of my stay. The host (Courtney) is so friendly and very supportive throughout the stay, always checking to see if we needed anything. The house is just a few minutes away from Carmel village, and we ate the juiciest strawberries and avocados for a quarter of the price in LA metro. Definitely a gem worth coming back for.
What a beautiful and beautifully situated place this is. Bright, peaceful, quiet, and airy, this home was a lovely retreat for us during a busy wedding weekend. The home has plenty of space, lots of light, and a lovely, meandering riverside garden with wonderful terraces and decks overlooking the Carmel River. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, and the lovely bath products were a treat. And the location was perfectâ6 minutes from the winery wedding venue! Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
We had a girls' getaway at The Lodge. It was the perfect setting for relaxing and catching up with a glass of wine by the river. The house was very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The scenery was beautiful and there was tons of out space for enjoying the view of the river which is right at the back door. The host was available for any questions that came up and even sent some great suggestions for local spots to visit during our stay. We are definitely planning to return to The Lodge!
Leave the City behind, indulge in the quite peaceful lodge on the River. Plenty of things to do and see within 1 hour drive in any direction and the small-town charm of the Valley was a nice change of pace.
We were able to do all our favorite things we have done in the past from this location with very little time wasted driving. The Monterey Aquarium, Cannery Row, Big Sur, 17-mile drive and of course our favorite restaurants and some new favorites added to the list. So much more depending on what you like but Hiking, beaches, wineries and quaint farmers markets it's all there to be explored with little effort
The host gives you a lot of information so even if you don't know the area you will have plenty of information to review to make your stay more enjoyable.
Perfect! Our group of four had an amazing time at this beautiful property. Itâs obvious that Courtney puts her heart and soul into making sure that her guests have an amazing stay in her picturesque hideaway. Courtney began communicating ideas for our trip long before we arrived. Her thoughtful suggestions were spot-on and added value to our vacation. We will definitely return!
What a great place to get away and relax. From the young kids to the adults, we all loved the cabin and had a great time. Courtney is a great host and communicates very well.
We've been to Carmel dozens of times but had no idea this little piece of heaven was just down the road. Carmel Valley is NOT Carmel - it's warm and sunny and quiet, much more natural, super green (even in August) and teeming with birds. "The Lodge" is full of character, easy to hang with the group or find a quiet place to be alone. All the furniture is comfortable, and we had all the creature comforts we needed. The Carmel River is literally in your backyard! We sat on the back patio all day and watched the river slooooowly meander by - when our dogs weren't splashing around in it, that is. We enjoyed the kayaks and inner tubes as well. Courtney, our host, was quick to respond and provided a ton of useful information about the area. Cannot recommend this home highly enough, and we will certainly be back!
I have stayed at all sorts of beautiful vacation rentals in amazing areas, and this is the only one that I have ever wanted to revisit. The cabin, charming, I loved the decor, rustic elegance is what comes to mind. So many fun details. The house was completely stocked with everything. The property manager was very responsive and accommodating. You couldn't ask for a better host. The location and property simply magical. I can't wait to go back.
This home has to be at the top of my list of other rentals I have stayed in. First of all, the host was so kind and helpful. Responded right away and suggested many dog friendly things to do. The Lodge is clean and has everything you could need. Fully stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, bedding and great smelling soaps and lotions. The location was the best part! The Carmel river is your backyard! It is so quiet and peaceful. We spent every morning out there with our coffee and every evening with a glass of wine. The neighborhood is safe and people are friendly. We will definitely try to go back soon. :)
The property was really sweet and cozy. When we were there, there was a huge hail storm but we were able to watch from inside with all the big windows and the fire on.
The bunk room is a fun little touch, and the gals that slept in it said it was the best sleep of their life. It gets total darkness and really peaceful.
The owner was really responsive and helpful during our stay. We had a few questions, and she was also proactive in reaching out to us to make sure we were all set.
Our favorite part was the "fun hat" cabinet. :-)
Our family of two adults, two kids (10 & 8) and two dogs loved this magical home. The location was amazing, the house was clean and beautifully decorated with a vintage flair. Courtney was so kind and easy to communicate with. Having a spot right on the river was so fun. It was too cold to swim but that didnât stop our girls and pups from enjoying it. The location is so close to downtown and easy to get to great hikes nearby. Courtney has information and places to go and places to eat at the home. The bunk beds are in a shed outside but so fun. We bunked with our kids in it one night and were pleasantly surprised at the fact that we were warm enough and slept well. There are walkie talkies to use also if needed for the bunk shed. Loved our stay and planning on coming back.
We are grateful we found this location! Courtney was excellent with communication and suggestions of restaurants, hikes and points of interest in the area. The Lodge was better than presented. Our family of four (boys 12 & 16) all enjoyed the river, relaxing and sightseeing. We went to Big Sur, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Monterey(including the Aquarium)âŠour favorite as a family was Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. My older son and husband enjoyed golfing at Spy Glass and Spanish Bay! Then we watched the Bagpiper at Spanish Bay later that night from Royâs at Pebble Beach. Well worth every minute!
Beautiful and quiet riverfront property in a charming neighborhood. The kids played all day on the kayak and floating on inner tubes. The remodeled kitchen was perfect for making big communal meals, which we enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the Carmel River. The host, Courtney, did a beautiful job furnishing the house with curious antiques and knick-knacks. It was such a lovely and relaxing vacation.
Phenomenal stay! If you want to get away from it all this is your place! Don't miss out! Anytime you can bring the kids and throw them in the river, which is in your backyard, see deer while having coffee and be surrounded by bird calls it's a haven and a memory builder at the same time. This place is beautiful and Courtney is so welcoming and attentive. My family won't ever forget this stay.
Along the river, beautiful scenery, the doors are tough to open but just have to push harder. The bunk room is in a shed outside. The VRBO is FULLY stocked! All supplies, knives, cooking utensils, spices, ketchup, mustard, etc is there which is rare. The host is very responsive and provides recommendations to everything in the area. Our whole group was very happy with the location and house.
Loved the property, the river was gorgeous. Close to everything, Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur. We did it all in just a few days and wished we had more time to chill at the actual property. We will be back!
It was a really nice getaway for 4 adults. The river was high so we could not kayak, but would love to come back. It was a little chilly, but we all still enjoyed the view with the fireplace. It was not far from Big Sur - that is what we were looking for. Host was great!
Me and my sister stayed at The Lodge with our parents for a change of scenery and to be together. We spent magical five days there. Thought it was middle of December, the trees did not loose their leaves, and taking the canoe down the river felt like paddling through the liquid gold. The Lodge has a The Spiderwick Chronicles vibe, and we have spotted few fairies :-) Kitchen was fun to cook in, especially as a big group of aspiring foodies. Last but not the least, our host Courtney was always a text away to make us feel welcomed, comfortable, and to meet all our needs. We look forward to coming back in the summer time.
