Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. The building itself is one row away from the ocean, and one row from Carolina Beach Lake. The Carolina Beach Lake is nearby, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday and FIREWORKS every Thursday. We welcome you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for!

The home is in the heart of Carolina Beach and moderate walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island.

The entry to this 2 bedroom and 2 bath home opens into a newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is stocked will all the basic cooking and dining utensils one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.).

In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!). A few of the amenities provided by your Owners include courtesy large shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel left in the bathroom of each bath as well. Also, a roll of TP in each bathroom, 1 roll of PT in the kitchen, 2 garbage bags per garbage, laundry pods, dishwasher pods, dryer sheets, hand soap, dish soap, a sponge, coffee, tea, and pure cane sugar in each kitchen. Additional items are likely on sight as well!

The home's ONE (1) QUEEN bed and TWO (2) TWIN beds consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge.

There is a 50” Smart WIFI TV (with approx. 25 channels through the Charter Spectrum cable) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach!

The outdoor shower is located next to the pool in the rear of the building to help get that sand off of those toes!

The HOME: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a respective balcony. The outdoor spaces from pool, shower, and grounds are all communal.

PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (2) TWO unassigned parking spaces. Be absolutely sure your pass in onsite at check in and to always display the pass in your vehicle. If taken from the suite, a $200 lost/stolen pass charge will be assessed per pass.

The POOL: The pool and its amenities are privately shared by residents and guests. ***OPEN!***

Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. The building itself is approximately one hundred feed from the complexes private access. The property is a long walk or short drive from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities and dining and is equidistant to the smaller, but just as charming Downtown Kure Beach with its fishing pier and aquarium.

Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)

There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!

After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

•Salt Water Real Estate has partnered with the absolute best vendors our Island has to offer to help ensure guests can spend more time enjoying themselves and less time researching! Our partners include the Tony Silvagni Surf School for professional surf lessons, bicycle, umbrella and chair rentals, Hot Ticket Fishing Charters, Salty Dog Yoga, Amy’s Rise N Shine, and Griffin Cleaning and linens.

•Linens
(Sheets, bath towels, wash cloths pillowcases, wash cloths, bathmats) ARE included as part of the rental here (excluding beach towels which can be rented through scrubandgo@griffinscleaning dot org. If requiring extra or non-included linens, please reach out to Griffin Cleaning Services who is a partner with SWRE and will assist in any way possible! Please make sure all linens are placed in the basket or hamper before your departure! Please let all BED LINENS on the beds remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! Carolina Beach

•The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.

GOLF CARTS

•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.

•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways.

•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.

Just what the Sea ordered...

We enjoyed our weekend vacation at Cast-A-Waves which had an ideal access to the beach. The condo was beautifully decorated, supplied, and cozy. Maintenance requests were promptly addressed and the only concern we had was the uncomfortable couch and floors which needed to be thoroughly mopped. cozy.

Perfect Week!

Spent the week to watch my daughter play college lacrosse during spring break. Property was so clean and exactly like described. Had a few minor hiccups but host was promt answering and nothing that impacted our stay. Great food directly accross the street and lots to do around. Beach access was perfect!!! We had a great comfy stay.

Great Beach Location

We had a wonderful stay at this condo. The view of the ocean from the side deck was very peaceful! The condo had everything we needed for just the two of us. Loved this little condo! Was stocked well and with good supplies, especially in the kitchen. Was very clean! Big TVs, comfy beds and nice bathrooms. Loved the super close beach access and pool! We dont usually like middle condos due to the noise you can have above but it wasn't an issue with our stay. We would definitely return!

Everything was as described in the listing, and the location and proximity to everything was so awesome! Very cozy spot with a great kitchen for cooking and enjoying meals together. Coffee with a view of the beach each morning was also a highlight. We hope to be back next season!

Family Trip

We were on an end of school year family trip that we habitually take the 1st week of june and we loved our stay. The condo has a great kitchen and living area that flows beautifully onto a balcony overlooking the beach where we ate breakfast and lunch everyday then returned at night to snuggle up for some book reading and tv watching before bed. The town is wonderful because it is not overly touristy and is full of local spots, like the one right across the street called The Spot! The only downside to the whole week was the lack of linens-no towels, no sheets, no washcloths and no beach equipment! I dont remember reading that in the description but received an email communication 2 days before we were to leave that we would need to bring all of the linens or rent a linen package. We made do but overall i prefer at least sheets on the beds! And every condo we have stayed at for the last now 7 years, has had some sort of beach paraphernalia in the closets. So be warned, this condo comes equipped with nada. Spacious and comfy yes with an amazing location, but must be a newer rental and needs to work on some basic beach necessities. Still it was a great week with amazing memories!

Unit was very clean and organized when we arrived. Well decorated and felt homey. Location was great with private beach access and a walk down a quiet road away from the boardwalk with all of the rides shops and places to eat.

Delightful!

This condo was absolutely wonderful! It was very well stocked and impeccably clean. I was worried that there wouldn’t be much of a view since it’s on the side of the building, but the ocean view from the balcony was great. Parking was easy, however during the busy summer months it could be challenging since there are more parking passes (2 per unit) than parking spaces. The beach themed decor was tastefully done and made it even more fun to get away from our winter weather for a while! We would definitely recommend this unit to others.

This property was beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The location was great with dining within walking distance. Views were beautiful and beach access was only a short walk from property. We would love to stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit in this condo. Location was great, condo had all necessities, beds were very comfortable, enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the ocean. Thankful this is the 2nd floor, not the 3rd. The only reason this senior would not return is because of the lack of an elevator. otherwise it was perfect!

Great property and location. Loved the kitchen supplies and view of the ocean. The only thing I would add is blackout curtains. It was hard for me to get my toddler down for her nap without them. Everything else was spectacular! Will come back!
