Welcome to Clam Shell Penthouse. Relax on one of your two large decks and take in the beautiful views of the ocean on one side and the marina on the other. You can enjoy your morning coffee watching the sun rise over the ocean and then unwind your day with a cool drink while watching the sunset over the marina. We have everything you could want for your vacation including a lovely community pool!

We are a two-story town home (top two floors) with everything you'll need for your beach vacation. With a short one-minute walk you'll be laying on the beach soaking up the sun in the sand. When you get back we have an outdoor shower for you to rinse off in or just stay right in the pool before heading up for lunch.

With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, everyone will be happy. We have two large master suites with luxurious bathrooms and whirlpool tubs. We offer three covered parking bays that accommodate 4 vehicles and a private elevator so you don't have to lug all your belongings up the stairs! With two large decks everyone can enjoy the beautiful ocean views. What a wonderful place for your family and friends to spend their vacation.

When you first walk in you'll notice hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, tile back splash, and plenty of room for everyone. Your toughest decision will be to figure out who sleeps in which room! We have TV's in the living room and all four bedrooms. There is an ocean view deck off the living room and another off the upstairs master bedroom. They are both great places to sit and enjoy the cool ocean breeze. The dining area has a large table and along with bar stools and seats eleven people. The slow pace of island life makes it easy to forget about your work deadlines and soon you won't even remember how stressed your life is back home. With beautiful beaches, great seafood, and fun activities for the kids, you'll be glad you booked this home here on Carolina Beach.

Carolina Beach is easy to get to and once you cross over the bridge onto the island you'll instantly start to relax. We are a family friendly beach town and offer live outdoor bands, fireworks, a boardwalk, fishing pier, restaurants, grocers and a Walgreen's right on the island. While here don't forget to head over to Britt's Donuts and have one or two. They're a must for any visit to Carolina Beach and have been on the boardwalk since 1939. You can also visit the NC Aquarium and Fort Fisher Civil War fort and museum. Call us today, and we'll be happy to help you book your perfect beach vacation!

Wonderful Weekend at Clam Shell #7

We had an amazing stay at this property. It's the prefect size for a group and very kid friendly. We were only steps from the beach. Given that we stayed during these unknown times, the property was very clean and safe and was a wonderful place to escape to for the weekend. Thank you to the management team for being in communication and quick to respond to any of our questions. We'll definitely look to stay here again when we come back to Carolina Beach!

Steps to the beach, pool and elevator to make dragging luggage up to the third floor a breeze and very accessible for the grandparents. Plenty of space for our family of five, in laws and niece and her friend. Large well equipped kitchen was great for nights we wanted to stay in and cook meals. Covered decks made great places to enjoy a cup of coffee with ocean view in the morning or glass of wine at sunset. Dave and family with A1 have always been A+ very responsive if any needs come up and easy to work with. Can’t say enough about this place. We look forward to coming back for years to come!!

Memorial Day Holiday

Loved the location to the beach!! We truly enjoyed relaxing on the upperstairs balcony and looking at the ocean. A very well equipped kitchen. We were so thankful for that as the restaurants in the area did not have adequate staff and waits for dinner were extremely long, more so than normal. Plenty of space for 6 adults, 2 boys under 5 and a 9 month old. Sufficient parking, and the elevator was so appreciated at check in, check out and grocery trips. The grandsons Loved the pool, and it was so close. Just wanted to mention,, the staircase railing was a bit sticky and could use a cleaning, as could entry doors. A positive experience and a memorable trip.

Great rental!

Clam Shell was a great location for our family wedding weekend. The property was clean, well maintained, clear instructions for everything, close to the beach, with a pool for my girls. Large open space for entertaining. The elevator is a must have for packing/unpacking and for those that can’t do the stairs well - big bonus for us. I appreciated the book with local recommendations of places to go and see. Overall, very happy with the accommodations and would stay again!

Family Vacation Provided Time with Grands during COVID19

The house suited us perfectly. My husband and I occupied one master bedroom with balcony access. The 4 grands, ages 1 to 7, occupied the room across the hall upstairs. The parents had the two rooms downstairs. It was awesome. We sat on the balcony upstairs after the kiddos had gone to bed and we could still hear if there was a problem. Also the master was very large and filled with the crafts and toys that we brought. So our room frequently became the hangout for everyone. The house is wonderful. Distance to the beach access is great. The surrounding area was not exactly what we have been used to in the past, but since we were social distancing it really was ok.

We don’t have to carry everything up steps ! The top floor has beautiful views of sound and ocean . It has a huge master suite with large balcony with rocking chairs . The second bedroom has a full, 2 twin beds and twin pullout sleep sofa . This room is perfect for the teenage grandchildren . The two upstairs bedrooms has heated tubs ! The downstairs has 2 bedrooms with queen beds that are perfect for myself and my son that doesn’t have children . I could go on and on ... They just added 4 smart TVs this year. The kids love the pool ! This part of beach is perfect for children and families ! It’s not over crowded. Keyless entry door. We’ve rented same house for 4 years ! Most. Likely will be back ‘

Clean, well stocked and very comfortable. Our 3 generation family of 11 were quite comfortable. Rental company was very responsive. Elevator very handy for loading and unloading. Would stay again.

This is our favorite place for many reasons...the size, the pool, the elevator, and the location. It was clean upon arrival, and the decor is lovely. David and his team are prompt to respond with any concerns or questions. A1 Property management is topnotch!

The mud room off the elevator made getting my toddler to and from the beach so much easier and the living spaces were so comfortable and spacious. Felt very COVID safe, independent air flow, not crowded beach and when we had an issue with the elevator a property manager came right away and wore a mask.

Nice stay, very nice beach house.

This is a nice 4BR property with ready access to the beach. The kitchen is reasonably equipped, but with very minimal supplies for cooking (e.g. only salt was available). The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and as-advertised. The space overall was nicely laid out and comfortable. I would say the pool was a bit of a disappointment. Because 4 apartments share this common area, it's essentially impossible to socially-distance and have access to this pool. While the owners did put up a sign trying to limit the number of people, the other tenants opted to ignore the rules. The level below this apartment is a 2BR rental property as well. Keep this in mind. We had no problems or issues at all and there was minimal noise (only the patter of kids running around a bit) from them. But don't expect that you're the only ones in the building.

March 2020 Stay

We had such an awesome stay! What a fabulous property you have! We had all the comforts we could possibly need. It was a perfect size with plenty of space for our large family.
