Hidden away from the outside world, behind a fairytale stone entrance gate, this villa for 12 offers an idyllic escape from daily life. It is hard to do justice to this unique property, with extensive walled gardens, a beautiful swimming pool and stunning architecture, both traditional and contemporary. Guests will be torn between relaxing by the pool, soaking up their surroundings or exploring the breathtaking beaches of Salento.

Inside the main house, which looks out over the swimming pool, there is a stylish, open-plan living space, which has French windows on either side, bringing the gardens indoors. The owners have lavished great attention on the décor creating a serene, beautiful space. The seating area has a sofa and fireplace. Close by is the dining area and then the well-equipped kitchen. Guests will find a cooker hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and coffee machine. There is a separate room with a second cooker hob for frying.

Glass doors open onto a delightful shaded terrace which is an extension of the living area. There are armchairs for guests to relax as well as another dining table for meals al fresco, plus a BBQ. Steps lead up to the swimming pool, where guests can sunbathe on sunloungers after a refreshing dip. Under a nearby gazebo, there is a jacuzzi for 6 people and a shaded fitness area for total wellbeing. The gardens include an orchard with young trees, for fresh seasonal fruit, as well as a vegetable garden so that guests can enjoy the finest salads and vegetables.

Sleeping
There are 4 beautiful bedrooms in restored trulli and a stone tower around the gardens. All have a double bed and the two larger rooms have 2 additional single beds (pouffes which open out). Each room opens directly onto the gardens and has an en suite bathroom.

All the modern bathrooms are equipped with a shower, basin, bidet, hairdryer and WC.
There are additional bathrooms by the living room and also by the swimming pool. These also have a shower, basin, bidet and WC.

Location
The property is on a white road, an unsurfaced country road, which ensures total privacy and peace. However, it is only 10 minutes from the small town of Martano. Martano has retained its medieval walls and historic buildings. It is fascinating to wander through the streets and soak up the atmosphere. You can also try the local cuisine at one of the many excellent restaurants in the town.

The equally beautiful town of Melendugno is also close by (10 minutes). Every Wednesday morning the town hosts a weekly market. This is the best place to find the freshest local produce from olive oil and cheeses to honey and fruit.

The Ionian coast is just 15 minutes away and visitors will be spoiled for choice with the beautiful beaches nearby.

Golfers will enjoy the two courses near the town of Acaya (25 minutes) or for more exercise and a hike through unspoiled Mediterranean countryside, there is the WWF nature reserve of Le Cesine (25 minutes).

The closest airport is at Brindisi - just an hour away by car.
