Charming townhouse - Walk to the Beach

Carpinteria...maybe it's not really the land that time forgot, but it doesn't take much time here to feel like you've eased back into a vacation from your childhood. Days at the beach are long and lazy, and balmy nights are livened up by walks up and down the main drag, stopping for ice cream, to window shop, or to just watch others stroll by. There's a wide variety of local restaurants, but not a major chain in sight (other than fast food, of course), and if you feel like staying out late, there's usually live music playing nearby somewhere.

We have a comfortable, well stocked townhouse with cute beachy decor. It is the perfect place for a great relaxing vacation. Dorrance Depot R&R has the flavor of the past with the accommodations that you want for your family today.

Located within two blocks of just about everything, it's a short walk to the beach and wildlife sanctuary in one direction, and Linden Avenue's shops and restaurants in the other. Although it's rumored to have been the old railroad station, today's Dorrance Depot R&R is all about Rest and Relaxation. Unit b, a spacious2 story beach townhouse, has three bedrooms and 1.5 baths, with a large and open living, dining area. The large private patio, connects the inside to the outside, and add to the entertainment possibilities. The house is fully equipped with kitchen, bath, and linen supplies and has a 2 car garage. New this year-- An outdoor shower!

Thanksgiving 2024

This was a last minute decision to visit Carp and celebrate Thanksgiving. We needed a couple accommodations with our puppies and Kathy was very understanding and allowed us to bring them. We loved the proximity to beach and shopping. Parking was excellent.

Schönes Haus an der Bahn

Zuerst einmal hat das Haus alles geboten, was man brauchte. Der CheckIn war unkompliziert - alles gut. Besonders gut hat mir die NĂ€he zum Strand und dem Ort gefallen, denn man konnte Restaurants, LĂ€den und Strand leicht zu Fuß erreichen. Das Sofa im Wohnzimmer war sehr gemĂŒtlich auch das war sehr angenehm. KĂŒche und Bad waren gut. Einiges hat mir leider nicht so gut gefallen. 1. Mir war nicht bewusst, dass das Haus direkt an der Bahn und dem Bahnhof liegen wĂŒrde. Das war teilweise sehr laut und nachts hat das laute Tuten echt gestört, da man das Fenster offen hatte, um kĂŒhle Luft ins Haus zu bekommen. 2. Das Untergeschoss hatte einen Geruch, den ich nicht zuordnen konnte, er verschwand nach LĂŒften kam aber immer wieder wenn ich die TĂŒr aufschloss. 3. Die KĂŒche war gut, aber der Inhalt der SchrĂ€nke nicht so aufgerĂ€umt und sauber. Ich hab alles gereinigt, was ich benutzt habe, aber ich hĂ€tte mich wohler gefĂŒhlt, wĂ€re das ordentlicher gewesen. Die Vermieterin war sehr nett, wir hatten nur einmal kurz Kontakt, weil noch was im Trockner war, alles sehr unkompliziert und nett.

Fantastic & relaxing beach home

We just got back from spending a week at this great townhome. The location was perfect- just a few blocks from the beach and the cute shopping area. We didn’t use our cars all week because we could walk or bike everywhere. The home was clean and comfortable, had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. It is definitely larger than it looks in the pictures with a big, open downstairs and 3 bright, comfortable rooms upstairs. The back patio is also large and a great place to hang out, with a charcoal grill and fire pit. We could store all of our bikes and beach things in the garage which was great! Any questions that I had were immediately answered by Kathy- she was always available and so easy to deal with. I highly recommend this property and will definitely be back!
