Charming stone trullo with sea access (house F)
This cozy little stone house on two levels, with work from home facilities, is located in an exclusive and unique estate consisting of several villas and trulli, separated by pine trees. It is known as "La Palombara" and was popular with VIPs in the seventies and eighties. At the end of 2019 we rediscovered this heavenly place and we chose to upgrade and redesign parts. It is now available for guests that are looking for a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In the photo gallery you will find a map of the entire grounds.Â
A path leads from the property directly to the sea. On your way down, you will pass some picnic areas with breathtaking views. Once on the rocky beach, you will find four access points for swimming, diving, snorkeling or fishing in the crystal clear water of the Lower Adriatic Sea. It might be possible to see passing dolphins especially from the picnic areas. (Caution: the path and access to the sea from the rocks is not suitable for small children or people with disabilities).
The trullo, made of beautiful stone walls, has one double room with en-suite bathroom (with shower) and a living space with kitchen (including a dishwasher) and a fireplace. There is a 1.80x1.40m sofa bed in the living room; itâs too small for an adult but ideal for up to two children.
Downstairs, there is an extra room with a desk in front of the fantastic sea view ideal to work remotely thanks to a business quality, free and unlimited wifi provided. There is also an extra single sofa bed and a small bathroom (see floor plan in the photo gallery).
The interior is simple but functional. There is air conditioning in the bedroom (cold or hot air). We provide additional electric radiators when it gets cold the house can be used in all seasons.
A private, partly shaded terrace offers views of the garden and the sea. A barbecue and an outdoor shower complete the picture.
The well-known fortified village of Castro, with its bars, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket, can be reached on foot in just ten minutes. The walk is along a charming path under the ancient Messapian walls. For those who prefer sandy beaches to rocks, the enchanting sandy beach of Porto Miggiano is 5 km away; very charming are also the coves of Porto Badisco and the long sandy beaches of Alimini, north of Otranto.
Sheets, duvets and towels are not included. If you don't want to bring them with you from home, regardless of the length of your stay, you can rent them for âŹ26 per person.
Final cleaning is not included and costs âŹ100, unless you clean yourselves before departure.
Dogs and pets are welcome, if you inform us in advance! Surcharge: âŹ150 for the 1st one, âŹ75 each for the others. Usually max 1 large or 2 small ones are allowed, but exceptions might be possible upon request.
We will ask you to pay a security deposit of âŹ400 before arrival. The security deposit will be refunded within 7 days after departure, if there is no damage.
Electricity costs (and thus where applicable AC, hot water, heating etc.) are NOT included in the price and will be charged based on your actual consumption. The price per kWh charged to guests was âŹ0,52 on 06/01/2026, when this text was last updated. Prices may slightly change over time.

We are obliged by law to verify the identity of all our guests. We will therefore ask you to upload copies of your IDs on our (secure) website to verify your identity before handing out the key code for the accommodation. Your personal data is treated in full compliance with EU data protection laws.
Also, we are obliged to sign a rental agreement with our guests (one person per group). This will be done digitally and requires just a few seconds on your side. You can find a template of the rental agreement on our website.
Parties, gatherings, events or loud music are not allowed at this property unless explicitly authorised beforehand by us in writing.
In case the local municipality charges a tourist tax, we will ask you to pay this separately to us and we will transfer it to the local authorities as required by law.
Please note that, like for all houses in Italy, the power allowance of the house is limited and you might not be able to always use all electric appliances simultaneously. No need to worry: most guests don't even notice this limitation.
Unlimited wifi is included in the price for normal use. Fair use policies might apply. Please note that we cannot guarantee any specific connection speed nor coverage across all rooms in the building. We're happy to provide more details upon request.
Perfect location that could benefit with a few improvement
The location is simply breathtaking. The private (shared with other trullos) sea access is a big plus.
It really felt like a nice pause in this hectic world.
A few things didn't work properly (the stove) and some would definitely require some investment (the bed, the shower, the sink). There are way too many extra items to take into consideration.
We have rented other places during this trip in Italy where we didn't have that. This feels old fashioned and you would benefit from including ALL costs (electricity, cleaning, bedsheets) in the initial prices. The additional useless agreement to sign is unnecessary. Also, if you pay extra for certain items, it would be great not to have to do things yourself (bed, taking out the garbage).

Top Lage
Die Unterkunft hat eine Top Lage sowohl in Bezug zum Meer als auch zum Ort selbst. Alles ist fuĂlĂ€ufig erreichbar! Das GefĂŒhl in einer eigenen abgeschlossenen Parkanlage mit Meerzugang zu wohnen ist wirklich gut!
Leider ist die Unterkunft absolut in die Jahre gekommen. Die OberflĂ€chen im SanitĂ€rbereich sind etwas verbraucht, sodass man froh ist diese auf Grund der AuĂendusche nicht wirklich in Anspruch nehmen zu mĂŒssen. Der Duschkopf rinnt, die SpĂŒle in der vermeintlichen Kochnische ist provisorisch und unpraktikabel! Die Fliesen sind abgeschlagen und der KĂŒhlschrank funktioniert eingeschrĂ€nkt, da man die TĂŒrablage angebohrt hat und mit Gewindestangen provisorisch ausgestattet. Also man fragt sich mit welcher BegrĂŒndung hier eine Kaution eingehoben wird! Tut mir leid, aber eine ehrliche Bewertung!
