I wish I could give zero stars. My family and I arrived late on June 20 looking forward to a quick checkâin after a long driveâonly to be met with outright hostility and verbal abuse from the staff. Imagine two frazzled parents, a terrified toddler, and a baby in arms, and instead of a warm welcome, we got insults and demeaning remarks in front of everyone.
What went wrong:
âą Hostile staff: Rather than a friendly âBuongiorno,â we heard sarcastic quips and shouted orders. It felt like weâd stumbled into a shouting match, not a hotel lobby.
âą Children traumatized: My 3âyearâold was crying, the baby was wailing, and the staff seemed to take perverse pleasure in our panic.
âą Zero empathy: No apology, no offer of helpâjust cold shoulders and pointed fingers.
Forced emergency move:
Within minutes we felt so unwelcome we bolted out the door, luggage and all, and booked Hotel Manganelli Palace for âŹ189 at midnight. Two Uber rides later (thank you, Uber driver, for your sympathy!), we finally found a safe roomâand a peaceful nightâs sleep.
Bottom line:
Deodato Guest House isnât worth one euro. Between the verbal assault, the trauma to our kids, and the added expense of an emergency relocation, this âguest houseâ should be renamed âNightmare House.â
