The hotel is up a hill, about 5-10 minutes walk from the Roman ruins so for people with walking difficulties it’s probably not the hotel for you. For us it was wonderful. After the busy streets outside it was a place of perfect calmness for us. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We were on the ground floor but couldn’t hear a sound from the street. The area outside the hotel looks a little rundown, but that’s just Catania. Inside the hotel is beautifully appointed. We had a large comfortable room. Would definitely stay again if we are in Catania.

Beautifully maintained and restored historical property. Small number of rooms but outstanding in every way. The staff, the decor, the quiet and great location within 10 to 20 minutes, walking time to all the central historical sites.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and stress free. Breakfast was well served, with an option of hot food, which we didn’t try. Area outside the Hotel was very dirty, rubbish in the streets, graffiti and very uneven pavements. The Hotel, however was a shining star amongst it. We would return!

If you are looking for Sicialian Old World charm, this hotel has it in spades. It is quiet, elegant and tucked away in an unlikely setting. The surrounding buildings and street do not vibe with beautiful hotel. Although it was a short walk downhill to the Roman amphitheater, the uphill climb is not for someone who would rather not exert themselves. The restaurants close by are fair, lacking the ambiance and sophistication of more upscale restaurants. The staff at this hotel were fabulous- attentive and informative. Valentina and Antonio gave us great recommendations for sightseeing and places to eat. The breakfast was excellent, again with wonderful waitstaff. We felt very cared for by everyone at the Liberty Hotel!!

The environment of the hotel has a vintage feel. It is quiet and bedding was comfortable. Did not get a chance to dine in during my stay, but the food smelled exquisite.
