Thank you so much for letting us kick off our 25th anniversary at your rental! It was super clean and had great water pressure! Convenient to the beach and some great restaurants.
It was fifthly. Pictures were completely deceiving. I thought I was going to be staying in a cute little rental and that was CLEAN. And I was completely wrong. Unfortunately I was afraid I couldnât get a refund so we stayed. Even the sheets were dirty. We found dog hair and dirt under the comforter.
Listing description said âbasicâ and definitely was with 3 nice sized rooms, one bathroom, dining, living and kitchen areas. Games and puzzles were nice, but had continuous issues with TV. It, overall, met our needs but didnât find extra TP until checking out, we bought replacement hand soap, and random broken stuff all around. Ok, can deal with that but the place was quite dirty - walls with footprints and gunk, kitchen floor unclean, and vents filthy and not healthy for anyone with allergies. Price was reasonable for what we got and it met our needs but a cleaner environment would have been appreciated.
Host was great at communicating and was very flexible with us when we needed to change our reservation, seems like a very kind person and easy to work with when planning our trip. Location is absolutely perfect either for spending time in downtown Charleston for sightseeing or for proximity to Folly Beach, and price for that location cannot be beat. Plenty of AC, clean towels, and wifi. Unit was not super clean (floors, bathroom especially) and missing some basics, like extra toilet paper (there was only one partially used roll) and no soap for hand washing in the bathroom. While it said bare bones I still think being clean and enough tp are expected. Two of the beds were great, the third was extremely creaky/Shakey, and felt like the frame would not hold well with much weight, so plan accordingly if your group is large enough to need all three bedrooms. We did see several large cockroaches as well, we know they're common in SC but feel that should be disclosed, especially as the kitchen trash is open with no lid.
House was as expected when you show up site unseen. Bugs were found underneath the sheets in one of the beds, and when we told the property owner about it, she gave a solution of changing the sheets which doesnât solve the bug problem. When me and my friends said we were not staying there because of the bugs in the bed. She took it to heart and then the conversation got heated. The owner proceeded to take a video of my friend and her one year-old calling her and her child gross and disgusting. Somethings were said that probably shouldnât have but the owner was very rude. True my friend should have just walked away but the owner shouldâve been a bigger person and just stopped engaging but then proceeded to call a 1 year old gross and dirty. If she wouldâve stopped the conversation, I wouldnât have to be writing this.
Value good for location. Picture od exterior would be useful in setting expectations. Auto body shop next door Ɣas not a problem. A solid barrier between the sitting area and the street would be useful as the sea breeze blew the curtains horizomal
Other than some minor things this house was great. We didnât have time to get to the beach and thought it would be closer, but thatâs ok! Owner was super responsive and the house was accommodating. Next time we are booing for a wedding I will have to think more about bathroom space. Being close to Walmart was super convent!
The property was nice and in a good location. Very convenient to downtown charleston. It was clean and cozy. Home away from home. Really enjoyed the stay.
The issue with our stay was cleanliness related, and the owners should probably look into a new cleaning staff. When we arrived at 5 (after check in) the property had not been cleaned. The cleaner arrived shortly after we did, and right before I was going to call the property manager. We agreed to wait until she was finished cleaning since sometimes things happen. But even once she finished cleaning, it was clear that she rushed. There were old McDonalds cups/wappers in the cabinets, blankets left on the couch that clearly had not been washed in several visits, and the bathroom only received a surface level clean. Because I had my kids with me, and didn't want to try to find additional lodgings, I just cleaned the bathroom myself and removed the blankets from the couches and beds. It is a shame because the location is great for what we needed, although it is on a VERY busy street so beware. Hopefully the owners will address the cleanliness issue, as it could be a good place to stay beyond that.
It is a Beautiful little duplex house. With 3 bedrooms and Everything you need! It has its own Kitchen and Living room, even a little Dining room. Great Location right near the beach. It is right on Folly Road so thereâs a lot of traffic going by. And then it looks like it was recently painted maybe a little too thick so some of the bedroom doors are hard to close and open, but these were minor things. For the most part, we had a great stay. I would recommend it and consider staying there again on my next visit to Charleston!
Our family came to Charleston for a wedding. There were six of us and a hotel was just too expensive and not an option. We found this cute little three bedroom house. The price was right and we really enjoyed staying there. Itâs on a busy street which concerned us, but we never heard any of the noise, even at night while sleeping. Ellen was a great host and even let us check in a little early due to trying to get to the rehearsal dinner in time. I love how accommodating she was and kind.
