Welcome to Saint Philip Square, an award-winning collection of historic homes that spans nearly one city block of downtown Charleston-The Emma McCall House at 174 Unit #2 St. Philip St. This 3-bed, 3-bath two level apartment has private porches on both levels and is located just one block from King Street. Recognized with five Carolopolis Awards and the SC Governor’s Award for Historic Restoration, this retreat is perfect for families or groups seeking an authentic Charleston experience.

Bedroom 1 – King bed, exposed original ceiling beams, large windows offering natural light.
Bedroom 2 – Queen bed, ensuite bath, exposed beams, furnished with historic charm.
Bedroom 3 – King bed, ensuite bath, cathedral ceiling, exposed beams, dressing/writing table.

Bathroom 1 - Marble and tile shower, separate handheld shower, glass shower door.
Bathroom 2 - Ensuite bath, glass door, rain shower head, and separate handheld shower.
Bathroom 3 - Ensuite bath with bathtub and shower.

Living Room – Bright and open with plush seating, a flat-screen TV, elegant historic accents.

This is not a typical short-term rental; it is not a renovated dependency or a newly constructed unit in an old neighborhood, nor is it situated on a tiny lot in a questionable or remote area. The old hardwood floors, tall ceilings, original moldings, plasterwork, windows and doors exude a special warmth, character, and charm that is very difficult to achieve in new construction. The exterior copper roof and guttering provide additional warmth and character. It's the real deal!

Saint Philip Square is an award-winning collection of 6 historic buildings meticulously curated to enhance your stay in Charleston. “M2” is one of seventeen unique rentals. The grounds feature outdoor garden areas with fountains, dining areas, fire pits and covered barbecues. In the evenings, this oasis sparkles with outdoor lighting, making it the perfect place for nightcaps after a day of exploring.

- No amplified music.
- No smoking inside.
- Pets allowed with prior written approval ($200 non-refundable fee)
- Quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM – Be respectful of neighbors.
- Check-in: 4:00 PM | Check-out: 10:00 AM.
- Only registered guests are allowed to stay overnight.
- Any decorations must be secured using painter’s tape only to avoid damage to walls.
- Guests must follow trash disposal instructions provided by the host.
- Please return all items and furniture to their original locations.

We had an amazing stay here. The property was exactly as described in the listing. Plenty of room for our group. One couple and two singles. We each had our own room and bathroom. The kitchen/living area was perfectly sized for us. Lots of extras like coffee soap paper goods shower stuff and even umbrellas which we unexpectedly needed. The property was well kept with lots of beautiful outdoor spaces. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants on King St and having a parking spot was very helpful for our short car rides. Jamie reached out ahead of time with tons of useful info and very nicely detailed so we had no communication issues at all. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you!!

Jamie, the property manager, went above and beyond to get us in a day early! It was extremely helpful for our situation. She was wonderful!! The place is lovely, extremely clean and very comfortable! We stayed in this apartment while in Charleston for a family wedding. The property was nicely decorated, clean, and very comfortable. The location was great, with restaurants, shopping, and entertainment within walking distance. The property manager, Jamie, was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had.

Perfect location

We stayed in this property while in town for a family wedding. The home is in a great location and within walking distance to many stores and restaurants. The home was furnished with anything you may need including coffee, dish soap, pots/pans/ dishes, glassware, laundry detergent, bath soap, shampoo and conditioner and hair dryers. Check-in was smooth and communication with the owner was always quick. Jamie was very easy to work with. The parking permit is a plus and nice to have a dedicated place to park. The courtyard area was so nice and we saw people daily cleaning the fountains, blowing leaves off the walkways, etc. It was very clean and well-kept. There is construction on a building right by the property so there was construction noise each morning at 7 am; this has nothing to do with the owners or the property - but just a heads up in case you are staying here in the near future. St. Phillips Square would be an excellent place to stay for a larger group. It is a beautiful place.

The house was everything and more than expected. The bedrooms and bathrooms are small but just want you needed. The amenities were more than expected. There is a beautiful courtyard just out the door if you have a few moments to just sit outside. The manager Jamie was wonderful to work with.

I stayed here for a getaway with two friends. We were so pleased with the accommodations inside and out. Our unit was very clean and had plenty of space.
