Exceptional Location in Historic Downtown!

Located directly across from the World Renowned City Market, this deluxe studio has been lovingly restored to keep the elegance of yesteryear with all the modern luxuries and conveniences. The studio is charming, well appointed, private (there are only two studios in our building!) and secure (keyless entry locks). We provide soaps, towels, coffee & water! We adhere to a strict cleaning protocol to provide a safe and clean environment for you to enjoy.



The Space:

The studio is lovingly restored to keep the charm of yesteryear with the enjoyment of modern luxury. The custom kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, toaster & asst dishes. Beautifully appointed bath with custom tiled walk in shower & granite vanity with lush bath towels. We offer a complimentary asst of coffee and teas. A plush pillow top mattress with 1800 thread count sheets will ensure a restful sleep.



The studio overlooks the Charleston City Market building that was built in 1804. The Market area offers an abundance of shopping and nationally acclaimed restaurants. You are sure to find pleasure by visiting museums, touring the harbor or the famous Ft. Sumter, strolling through the historical neighborhoods and sneaking views of private Charleston courtyard gardens. King Street, known for designer shopping and antiquing, is only a block away.

Self parking is available in a covered garage at $20 per night with in and out access. Please advise if you require parking as we will issue an additional payment request, thank you.



Guest Access:

A private main entrance (secured by a keyless entry code) opens up to the staircase leading up to the foyer on the second floor. The foyer leads to a shared patio and to the other studio (we have two studios only in our building). Another staircase leads to the third floor studio (this listing). This building has no elevator. There is a private nook on the third floor landing, a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or to catch up on reading.



The Neighborhood:

We are immediately across from the Historic Charleston City Market dating back to 1804. Our location is second to none...shopping on King Street, dining in first class restaurants, and discovering Revolutionary and Civil War history are all within easy walking distance. You are sure to find pleasure in visiting one of America's oldest museums, touring the Charleston Harbor by boat or visiting the famous Ft. Sumter, strolling through the adjoining historic neighborhoods and sneaking views of private Charleston courtyard gardens. King Street, known for designer shopping and antiquing and is only one block away.



Getting Around:

Most attractions, restaurants, shops and galleries are within easy walking distance. A complimentary trolley stops immediately in front of our building. Bike taxis and horse drawn carriages (located on our street) are a popular way of getting around and discovering Charleston's historic treasures and landmarks.

Self-parking at a discounted rate is available in a covered and secured garage only one block from our building.



Other Things to Note:

Our building faces North Market Street and has a retail store on the ground floor and opens up to a charming courtyard in the back. The building (dating back to 1800) has no elevator.

There is a complimentary trolley that stops immediately in front of our building. Bike taxis and horse drawn carriages, located just a few steps from our suite on the same street (!), are a popular way of getting around and discovering Charleston's historic treasures and landmarks.

If you are looking for a one bedroom with a perfect location to everything in Charleston, this is your place. The room was clean, had good coffee and was perfect for what we were doing in Charleston, which was first time to the city and wanted to see the sites.

The room was so quaint, clean and comfortable. The little kitchen area, fridge, microwave and toaster was perfect for our needs. Best was the awesome location right in the historic district. We could walk everywhere. The parking pass worked out perfect. We loved Charleston and all it had to offer

We really wanted to love this place. It wasn’t horrible by any means, it just could be way better with a few improvements. Pros- Host was responsive and prompt in communication. Even allowed us to check in one hour early. Also a perk that we could leave our luggage in the foyer before check in and out time to accommodate our next stop without hauling luggage all over the city. Bed is comfortable. Biggest pro is the location. It is truly in the heart of the city, we were able to walk everywhere. Cons- when pulling back comforter, hairs were in several places. The refrigerator has a foul smell. We bought a box of baking soda to place in it because everytime we opened it, the smell was overwhelming. Lighting in bathroom- two different shades of bulbs (cool and warm) 3rd bulb burnt out. Impossible to do makeup in mirror because lighting was so bad. Shower water pressure, non existent basically. The Keurig had no filter and was on the descale setting. The creamer they had available curdled immediately in coffee. Such a bummer to not be able to enjoy a decent cup of coffee before starting off on your adventures. Ceiling fan had a pound of dust on it. Ultimately, the place is very cute but needs a little TLC in terms of cleanliness and hospitality items.
Mirror also had water spots all over it.
No filtration and needs to be descaled.
Just gross
Hard to see with the naked eye but unfortunately, we had to “clean” the sheets.

Pictures don’t do the property justice. Very comfortable and clean. Parking in the structure was very easy. If you are a foodie or a person that likes to be on the go, this is the perfect location. So many restaurants and places to see. We parked our car and did not need to move it all weekend. Target is a 5 minute walk that offers any necessities you may need during your stay. There is a full-size grocery store more of a walk, but there is so much to see, you don’t realize how far it is. Shopping up on King Street and visiting the Farmers Market was a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning and afternoon, not to mention the it’s Market across the street. You will not be disappointed in your stay at On the Market.

Fantastic Location

Room was exactly like the photos. Good value compared to some hotels in the area. Was nice to have a kitchenette. AC kept up with the hot days. Walkable distance to basically everything you'd want to see on the peninsula. There is nightime noise and light associated with being downtwon, but a good sleep mask and white noise app and we both slept great!

Charleston Market Street Suite

This is a charming studio suite in a great location with all the modern amenities. The Market Street Suite has been tastefully decorated with local art and has a cool entry way that represents the town. There is so much to do here in Charleston

Charming & Perfect Location

This cute little place had every amenity we needed. It is in the ideal location downtown. Right across from the market and in walking distance to several nice restaurants and dowtown sights. Checking in was easy and the hosts gave very detailed instructions so that was helpful. Unloading is a little tricky to find a place to park--its a busy street--but once we got unloaded and parked in the parking garage we stayed put and didn't use our car again. The other little thing is the stairs leading up to the room--they are narrow and kind of steep. We were on a 10 day vacation so we had quite a few bags with us so hauling them up 2 flights of stairs was a little tricky. Overall a wonderful little gem in downtown. We felt safe and secure and would definitely stay there again.
