Disappointing stay, Safety Issues & Misleading Info
The stay was frustrating from start to finish. Parking was unclear and led to repeated calls and texts the first night. The interior lock was broken, leaving the unit unsecured. A man claiming to be from management showed up unannounced, behaved unprofessionally, and appeared to be under the influence. The listing claimed to sleep six, but I was charged extra for more than four guestsâthis wasnât disclosed up front. The upstairs A/C didnât work, forcing some guests to leave early, and the A/C unit in the primary bedroom couldnât keep the room cool. The kitchen lacked basicsâthere was no ice maker or even ice trays in the freezerâand there were no working batteries in any of the six remotes needed to operate the main TV. The listing also included religious materials that some guests found offensive. The pool, advertised as private, turned out to be shared. Overall, poor communication, safety concerns, and misleading details made this a stay I canât recommend.
Our family was heading home from VA to Texas and we wanted to stop off to explore Ruby Falls and the war museum. We booked very last minute with zero issues. Publix was close for groceries. We loved having a cozy place to sleep after all our exploring!! Relaxing in the hot tub was a bonus! We cooked dinner and breakfast, they had everything we needed to cook! Look forward to coming back in the summer to use the outdoor facilities like the pool and roast marshmallows in the fire-pit! We will stay longer for our next visit! Thanks for a lovely stay! The Lotts Family
Everything was perfect! I took my daughter and a couple of her friends for her 16th bday. If you follow the directions they give to you going into the cabin it will lead you right to it. One night really isnât enough for such a nice place!
The parking and drive to the correct parking is a bit crazy. The entire bottom of the chalet is a public part of the building to the community and not nicely kept. There was toilet paper all over and the toilets were gross. It is a very tight property.
The chalet is extremely close to a very active very loud train tracks. It didnât bother our group but it was a bit of a shock as to just how close it is and loud it is.
The actual chalet was nicely decorated and the bunk platform bed is nicely made. However the other full size bed is in an unventilated closet with no airflow. The fans for the loft are heavily caked in dust. The living space is very tight and it just overall was not what I was expecting.
The pool was overrun by big fire ants and the pool lining was ripped and pulling up on the bottom. The hot tub was very nicely kept and private. We enjoyed this.
The property manager was kind and very responsive and quick to let us know we did not park in the right area.
Thereâs some nice easy trails you can walk and we enjoyed the views.
I overall liked the area but wouldnât probably rent this chalet again for the expensive price to have such a small space.
Itâs our second year and TR. We loved the tiny cabins so much last year that we came back to stay in the Chalet near the pool this year. The property was clean, so cleverly arranged and decorated. My daughter and her three friends loved the pool, the loft and the hidden bedroom. The bathroom is massive as well. Very nice chalet!
Very peaceful place right out of town within 10-15 minutes to the majority of the local attractions. The property is next to busy train tracks, but I didnât notice them to much with a window unit running in our bedroom. The property is super nice with good roads leading into it. This particular property does involve stairs up to the second level that you have to tote your luggage up and down. Walmart delivery will deliver groceries to there if you subscribe to that service. The bed was worn out but it didnât bother my back too much.
The Skyuka Chalet was in a great location. To park at the Chalet you need to drive down/up some steep hills, but it was doable. The host responded quickly to any messages and was friendly. The listing does mention to expect bugs, but we were expecting the occasional bug, we were not expecting so many. Upon arrival there were a lot of dead/alive stink bugs in window sills and on the floor/wall. We wished the dead stink bugs would have been vacuumed up before arrival. During our stay we also found a stink bug in my pillowcase and killed two roaches in the kitchen/dining room area. Trains do run frequently, but they did not bother our group. There is one bedroom, a loft area with a bunk bed (full bed on top, twin bed on bottom), and in the loft area there is a small door where the last bed is located in the wall.
Cute accommodations for a quick overnight girls trip. Ultra tiny bedroom (literally inside the wall) was a surprise, but a hit! Location is so incredibly close to town!
We loved the chalet and the aesthetics of it. It is NOT a true 2 bedroom though. The upstairs is an open loft area with no door. We have a 6 month old, 2 year old, and a 4 year old in tow with us. The bunk bed was a bit too high for me to feel comfortable with, but our 4 year old slept in it no problem. Also the POOL AREA is not completely fenced which is a huge hazard.
This is a HUGE hazard and should be addressed by the property owner ASAP. The playground is right next to the pool and children can easily wander into the pool area very quickly even with a parent nearby. Our 2 year old made her way into the pool area twice due to this and she cannot swim. We were nearby so nothing happened but the pool should be FULLY ENCLOSED with a fence for safety purposes.
Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. The property is very close to Ruby Falls, Discovery Museum, Aquarium, and Rock City.
The hot tub was great and the deck we enjoyed. The pool and pool deck are nice and our 4 year old loved getting in an 8 am swim.
Please enclose the POOL Area before an accident happens. 4 stars for pool area needing an enclosed fence.
Our family stayed at the Skyuka Chalet and the big May Family House. We also had several family members rent the small cabins during our stay. Everyone absolutely loved the property, amenities and location. The Chalet is perfect for a small family or a few friends. The pool is right at your doorstep and the community pool house under the Chalet is very convenient. We will definitely be back!
We came to Chattanooga for a family wedding and this was a great place to stay, very centrally located, easy to get to locations of interest, be aware of entrance to property should be approached during daylight hours, driveway up to the chalet is steep and curvy
We took a pit stop on the way to Florida to check out some Lookout games. The house was just perfect for us and the kids loved the bunk area and secret room. The pool was amazing and perfect for afternoon fun. The house was easy to get to and from the places downtown. We will definitely be back next summer!
The property was nice with private hot tub and heated pool however the bed was terrible my back ached the whole time my wife found the couch to be more comfortable but it was wore out too.
