disappointed that hotel could not provide early check-in causing me problems despite advance request. Front desk seemed unconcerned and unwilling to assist. Needed 2:00. Shouldnât have been a big deal given advance request. No storage room for luggage at reception.
Otherwise a good stay and convenient location. Value to price was so-so.
When we first got there the ladies in the office instantly started picking on my husband about feeding him to a bear! We absolutely loved it! They were so sweet and showed so much southern kindness to us! The rooms were clean, the beds were soft and comfortable, the view over looking the mountains was breathtaking! We came down for mini nats in Maggie valley! The only negative I would say is there is no room for trailer parking at all. We made it work and the ladies in the office were a great help! Definitely will be booking again for next years show!
I have stayed here many times over the years because it is
clean and safe.
It is still a great place to stay. Only negative is the breakfeast which had minimal choices.
In my commending the âquality furnitureâ, everything was heavy and strong, built to endure. Especially appreciated were the metal front doors. Now for the four stars, hospitality should be number one with hotels and motels. Air BnBs tend to show this by gracious additions of amenities and other little perks. Hotels will often allow for early checkin, even it it means changing the room of stay. We needed that early checkin. After an all night flight which included a switch of airplanes, we were tired. We were an hour early. We willingly paid the extra fee. But the âtight shipâ attitude marred an otherwise pleasant multiple days stay. It was a âbusinessâ over âwelcomingâ methodology that, to us, was unnecessary.
The free my desk person was terrible and wouldnât speak to the possibility of an early check in, less than two hours before checkin. I asked nicely, but she lied about there being a room ready and insisted that she would know until after 4:00. She also said I could check in early for an extra $40⊠so obviously there were rooms available The hotel wasnât full or busy. She shouted at me to âget outâ and said she would call the police if I didnât leave. My wife and I felt very uncomfortable with staying there and booked a different hotel a few miles away and were able to check in immediately. I asked to cancel the reservation and she said she already had charged my card. I complained to Best Western and Hotels.com and was charged for the room even though I didnât stay and have not received any feedback from anyone. We had booked 4 nights and havenât been contacted by anyone about this terrible experience.
Room was very clean and staff was helpful
The area around the designated smoking area had full trash can and where you put out cigarettes was full during my entire stay.
