The Bungalow on Lake Navajo
Welcome to your serene getaway on Lake Navajo in Cherokee Village!
Nestled on the tranquil shores of Lake Navajo, a 34 acre fishing lake, this cozy retreat boasts views of the water and surrounding landscape. Spend your days fishing for bass and trout, exploring the lake by kayak, or taking in the views on the back deck. The Lake Thunderbird Recreation Center and its pristine lakefront swimming pool is just a few minutes away by car.
This property does include stairs from the living room up into the kitchen and may be difficult to navigate for mobility challenged visitors.
The inside was clean and comfortable. The outside there were old moldy leaves and sticks all around exterior of house. They all need to be removed. The lake was mucky so wouldn't go in it. Did find a great pool at Thunderbird community center. I would also suggest stocking kitchen better. There was one large bowl for mixing, popcorn, salad. Short on silverware, there were six of us and I was constantly washing by hand to have for next meal. Also, would have a ceiling fan or upright fan for master bedroom. It gets warm in there. Outside of that the house was comfortable and manageable.
Lovely house, great location, lake bit needs some TLC
This is a great house, in a great location, and overall, we really enjoyed ourselves. We're a family with two teens and one water loving lab mix dog. We spent four nights here. The area has lots to offer but we landed here in a middle of a heat wave, so we mostly stuck to water based activities. We rented a boat two days on a trot at Thunderbird Lake marina, which is only accessible to Cherokee Village residents and guests, and it was the cheapest, easiest and most pleasant boat rental experience we ever had. The house / yard are well maintained but you will envy all the neighbors with their decks and clear lake shore. Unfortunately, this property does not have a deck. In a picture it looked like it might, but it's actually a decrepit boat. In all fairness they did not claim they did and we should have zoomed in a lot more on the pic! The lake access itself is overgrown with vegetation, which makes even fishing difficult. This of course will not prevent the said water loving dog from diving into the muck every chance it gets and since there are no gates on the deck, as soon as you open any deck door, the dog will go straight down and into the lake ... and then you will need to hose down that dog because it's covered in swamp, but guess what, there is not water hose hooked up anywhere outside, so you need to get your swampy dog cleaned up with a bucket and a wash cloth. Also, no fire pit. So, it needs just a bit of super easy TLC and it will be a 5*.
I have had hit and miss experiences with VRBO. This was by far one of the best!! The owner (Eileen) was great, very communicative, and accommodating. The house was great. Better quality and value than I expected. Plan to stay here again next time I visit family and would feel completely comfortable bringing my son!
This unique and cozy house made for a perfect home away from home for me and my husband. The deck was the highlight of the property where we enjoyed mornings with coffee, afternoons with card games, and evenings with drinks and beautiful sunsets. The master bed was very comfortable. The management responded promptly and helpfully to all our questions and requests. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!
