WARNING! Do not book! Horrific stay, offered ÂŁ20 by owner not to complain! House not fit to rent
Owner is a disgrace cut the plug off the fire & hid thermostat so no heating available, cooker hob wouldnât ignite so we couldnât cook, 4yr old & 75yr old cold & no food, he wouldnât reply to call:texts until 10.30om he said go buy matches heâd refund & cleaner hid thermostat as Chester 20 degrees & no heating needed (text in broken English) he text again 7am to offer ÂŁ20 if we didnât complain & said no heating needed as 20 / it was 16 & we needed to take the chill off as all windows had been left open & we were all cold & we wanted to have a meal!!! The house was filthy, garden overgrown jungle not fit for anything, 2 abandoned cars on drive with smashed windows & sunk in ground & growing ivy, certainly not picturesque! We have photos, the children wouldnât shower as the bath was stained yellow, stains on kitchen walls, holes in walls, dead moths & flies on window sills, light bulbs out, it was the house from hell & thank god we hadnât booked anything but 1 night,
This property when we arrived did not look very inviting, there was 3 unused car in the driveway , the front door and also back door are 1970 doors that were in a poor condition and the security of him was a bit worrying the area is very nice and the bed seemed clean and we continued with our stay. The Tv worked good and all the appliances too. Heating was ok too. The bath was disgusting old water marks and again from the 70s the back garden was awful looks like waste land. Rubbish all piled up too. Sattees pass there comfort zone sorry but this property needs a make over soon.
Excellent location and we used a local pub the Cheshire Cat, which was superb. The only issues we had were that it is described as having a walk in shower, but it is over the bath. My wife is disabled, so this was an issue. The sofas are very very low, and difficult to get up from, and we could not find the WiFi information anywhere. As it was a short break, we decided to just use data. Overall it is a good base to visit Chester.
