An impressive five bedroom country home in the heart of the Cotswolds - Barnsley Cottage

Barnsley Cottage is a charming Grade II listed, large Cotswold holiday home, which sleeps ten guests, in five well-appointed bedrooms, with three bathrooms. The ground floor has been cleverly designed with socialising in mind, you have two elegantly presented reception rooms, a stylish open plan kitchen/dining room which leads out into the beautiful garden, boasting manicured lawn areas, a patio and plenty of outdoor seating, providing a wonderful space to enjoy all year round. The contemporary interior is complemented with characterful features including exposed Cotswold stone walls, original beams, flagstone floors and a large wood burning stove in the sitting room. Barnsley Cottage is a dog friendly holiday home, suitable for three medium sized dogs.

A perfect stay in a lovely homely Cotswold house

Barnsley Cottage was excellently equipped, great layout, lovely enclosed garden, and perfect spot for walks straight from house and the fantastic pub only a few steps away! Very homely inside. Beds and mattresses were very comfortable.

Barnsley Cottage

Annabel was extremely attentive and helpful. The twin room accommodation in the loft was really not suitable for 2 tall adults as you had to stoop quite low to get out of the room without hitting your head on the low beams! However we did enjoy our stay and the cottage had everything we needed I would describe it as homely and well lived in.

Lovely cottage but crowded with unnecessary items which meant it was not very clean. Beds lovely.

Beds and bedding excellent and bathrooms worked well - water hot and showers good. Kitchen was equipped very well although it sometimes took time to find a utensil as there were so many items in drawers and cupboards. Our party prefer a minimally furnished cottage which is therefore cleaner.

Wedding Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend attending a family wedding whilst staying at Barnsley Cottage. The house was very homely and cosy, with ample space for our large family. It was well equipped with lots of personal touches particularly the mulled wine set to go for our arrival. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if in the area. Thanks to Annabelle our host who made it a stay to remember.

Wonderful stay

Wonderful cottage, well equipped to host 5 couples celebrating a big birthday. The garden is secure and suitable for dogs, Local pub serves delicious food and has a great atmosphere. Also its around the corner from the The Pig Hotel and its spa. Annabel was a wonderful host, who was keen to ensure we were warm and comfortable in her delightful cottage. I suspect we will return again soon.

Perfect meeting place for friends

Barnsley Cottage provided the perfect location for old friends to celebrate a birthday together. It is well equipped and extremely homely. The kitchen and sitting room are connected making it a lovely place to cook and eat while relaxing. Annabel is an excellent host who reacted very quickly to any queries.

A fantastically relaxed stay!

First of all, if you like modern and minimalist. Do not stay here! It is very lived in and not the cleanest but we completely loved the whole weekend and wouldn't change a thing! There is everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, there are even a few staples like herbs, salt pepper, gravy etc and we had a lovely welcome hamper left for us! The beds were all so comfy, plenty of lovely fluffy towels to use and the fact that 2 of the bedrooms had en suits meant that we had plenty of bathrooms and toilets for all! The location was beautiful. So quiet - even though the farmer was making the most of the nice weather and driving his gigantic tractor back and forth during the day, it added to the atmosphere and the kids loved spotting it! We visited some neighboring villages and Burford. As we were also lucky with the weather we spent a lot of time out in the garden which was secure and safe for the kids and dog! We would 100% visit again. Anabelle was so accommodating and communicated with us continually on the day of arrival - we were even allowed to check in early as she got everything ready quickly!! Highly recommend!

A family weekend

We recently stayed at Barnsley Cottage for a weekend with our to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversay. The cottage is spacious but cosy. The garden was beautiful. We could easily reach the places we wanted to visited. My only criticism is that there were so many cupboards that at first it was hard to find things

Comfortable Barnsley Cottage

Barnsley Cottage was absolutely perfect for what we wanted - 3 families spending the weekend together under 1 roof. It was welcoming, cosy, homely and comfortable. The large warm kitchen was ideal and it was good for 10 of us to sit round the table. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms spacious. The attic bedrooms were perfect for the 4 children. The house and garden were dog friendly and the garden big enough to play in. Absolutely everything was provided and Annabel, the house owner, was welcoming and friendly. We would definitely come back.

Perfect family cottage

Fantastic family holiday at Barnsley Cottage. We loved everything about it. Plenty of space for three generations, comfortable and well equipped. My grand daughter (age 4) said ‘the beds are like marshmallows’ and she was right. Lovely garden for the children to play in and for the adults to relax.

Excellent stay for my 30th

We hired the house to celebrate my 30th birthday with family. We had a great time there, the house is very cosy and right in the middle of the Cotswolds. The fireplace was perfect to relax after a day out.

Weekend away with friends

Fantastic old cottage, extensively stocked with every type of kitchen appliance and equipment you could need. The cottage layout lends itself to inclusive dining and socialising and is well located in the village for the local pubs. The garden is beautiful with all day sunshine with bbqs for all. Would definitely recommend it and return.

Beautiful Cottage ForNew Year

We stayed in Barnsley Cottage for New Year, it was beautiful querky and cosy, lovely village pub across the road, a quick drive to Bibury and Cirencester recommended. We shall return in the Summer as wonderful for dogs too. We had 6 guests with us too come along Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay!

Seven of us stayed. All very comfortable and the house had everything we could wish for. The dog loved the garden. Giffords Circus was on at Cirencester one night and was really fun. Beautiful walks from the house too.

Charming Cotswolds stay

Our multigenerational group of 9 had a lovely stay at the house in July. It is very well equipped for a holiday stay with a fantastic kitchen, toys for the kids, bbq etc and has very comfortable beds. The garden is well maintained with plenty of space. A nice welcome basket from the host who was also in touch to check if we had any issues (which we didn’t). Very well located for visiting different areas of the Cotswolds. We would stay again.
