The Space:
Escape to the beauty of North Idaho and experience the perfect blend of modern comfort, farmhouse charm, and outdoor adventure. Situated on a private 1-acre lot in Dalton Gardens, this spacious 5-bedroom retreat offers the ideal setting for family vacations, reunions, group getaways, and memorable weekends near Coeur d'Alene.

With plenty of room to relax both inside and out, this home was designed for guests who want to enjoy quality time together while still having space to spread out and unwind.

The home features five comfortable bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and three separate living areas, making it easy for large groups and families to gather comfortably. One of the main living spaces includes a large TV and electric fireplace, creating the perfect atmosphere for movie nights and relaxing evenings after a day of exploring North Idaho.

The fully stocked and updated kitchen provides everything needed for preparing meals at home, whether you are hosting a family dinner, enjoying a holiday gathering, or starting the morning before heading to the lake. A washer and dryer are also available for added convenience during extended stays.

Step outside and enjoy one of the property’s most inviting features — the spacious backyard designed for relaxation and entertainment. Soak in the private hot tub beneath the stars, gather around the fire pit in the evenings, or enjoy outdoor meals under the gazebo dining area with BBQ grill. Families traveling with children will love the swing set and treehouse, while everyone can appreciate the peaceful surroundings and occasional wildlife sightings.

Outdoor recreation is just minutes away. The property is located only one mile from Canfield Mountain, offering more than 25 miles of hiking, mountain biking, and dirt bike trails. Guests are also just a short drive from Lake Coeur d’Alene, Lake Hayden, and the Spokane River for boating, swimming, paddleboarding, and lakeside dining.

During the winter months, Schweitzer Mountain Resort is approximately 45 minutes away and offers skiing, snowboarding, cross-country trails, and year-round mountain activities.

Despite the peaceful and private setting, downtown Coeur d’Alene is only a short drive away, where guests can explore local restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, shopping, parks, and waterfront attractions.

Guests will have full private access to the entire property, including all bedrooms, bathrooms, living spaces, kitchen, laundry room, backyard amenities, and on-site parking.

The property was very nice and just made us smile. Very enjoyable. Loved having family and friends around the fire pit. Gazebo was really nice for bar-b-qing. We loved it.

Everything was as-advertised in the listing. The house had everything we needed. It was clean, quiet, and everything was in good working order. Nice if you want to come back to the house and chill but still close drive to really anywhere in town.

Family Gathering

This property was the perfect location for a family gathering. The backyard allowed our granddaughter to play, the garage gave refuge when the skies opened up on us (as well as the gazebo), and the owner was flexible about us having a family barbecue that extended beyond the house guests. This is a very spacious house and exactly as advertised! We might suggest a new vacuum cleaner, as we tried to spruce things up before we left and it didn't function very well. Would highly recommend this VRBO!

Clean, comfortable and well furnished home

We found this home to be very comfortable. Beautiful yard with a pair of nuthatches building their nest in the "tree house". We would recommend the following: The jetted bathtub needs a grab bar along with a non-slip mat in the tub and a non-slip bath mat on the bathroom floor. The tub floor itself was slightly slippery. We would also recommend a grab bar or similar such outside the home on both the front and back door steps. Our average age was 64.6 with the exception of an 18 year old. Our larger and tallest guest stayed in the lower bedroom. He recommends, when you renovate, to install a taller toilet and rotate it 1/4 turn to take it away from the nearness to the wall. The home was extremely comfortable, clean and well furnished. Thank you

Nice location and home

This property was good for our party of 8- plenty of bedrooms and room to spread out. The location was perfect for our adventures. There were a few issues with the stay- we didn't receive check in information until a few hours prior to our arrival. Although there was no a/c, we were told that there would be plenty of fans. There was only 1 portable fan and 2 of the rooms didn't have ceiling fans, so it was a bit hot. One of the sprinklers shot directly into a bedroom window - a surprise for us at 6am!!! Also, the hot tub needed some chlorine, as the water was a tad dirty. Supplies were short as we ran out of paper towels and kitchen trash bags. All of these things were noted to the property manager, with only follow through with the sprinkler (later in the trip). Other VRBO's that we have stayed in have not had this lack of communication, so it was a little disappointing.

First ever poor review

I normally don’t give reviews. However. We had a family emergency come up. Tried to cancel and owner wasn’t having it. Fine. I get it. No worries. They are here to make money and it’s the policy. So we went ahead with the rental. Property is way overpriced for what you get. One of the beds broke in half. Literally. The moment my 11 year old laid down. Carpets were dirty. The biggest negative. No A/C. No where in the description did it say it didn’t have an A/C. It would get to 90degreed at night and with little kids it was miserable. Property manager was amazing. 5 stars for her. Her communication was excellent. The owner really needs to consider updating many things. Cleaning carpets and spring for an A/C.

Great place for a large group

We had our roommate reunion (spouses included) and stayed at this property. It was nice to have a room for each couple and a large kitchen and living space to hang out. The backyard is lovely and we enjoyed a few lawn games as well as a lovely dinner under the gazebo. We saw several deer in the yard and the neighborhood is very quiet. I highly recommend this home.
