Black Forest Cabin - April 2025

The most important part of the property is that it had the look and feel of a cabin, starting with wood floors that were obviously authentic and very old. So we got the atmosphere we hoped for. The next best part was the kitchen -- plenty large enough to allow multiple people to be cooking, talking, and drinking coffee or wine together. What's better about a property used as a getaway for multiple couples or one large family? In my limited experiences, a kitchen that big and mostly modernized (e.g. large new fridge, big island/prep area, large sink) is unusual in a vacation rental described as a "cabin." However, given the cleaning fee, it would be nice to pay more attention to the multiple outdoor decks and furniture. We had to spend a lot of time cleaning off a ton of pine needles (no shock given the location in the middle of a Ponderosa Pine forest, but the amount we had to remove said it hadn't been done in a very long time) and had to do a lot more than wipe down an outside table and chairs before using them for meals. With so few bugs in CO, you can eat outside regularly but before we could enjoy that (and we did) we had to do deep cleaning that hadn't been done in a little while.

Wonderful Getaway in the Pines

A log cabin in the woods with lots of pine trees and a perfect view of Pikes Peak. We had beautiful weather so we enjoyed our coffee outside every morning. Debra was so helpful and accommodating in every way.

Enjoyed staying here for a graduation celebration. The host was very accommodating. There are a lot of other cabins in the direct vicinity and so you are not alone and it’s close to busy road. Would stay here again if opportunity presented itself

Wonderful Getaway

The property was fantastic. We truly enjoyed our stay. The coffee bar was a very nice feature for 2 parents after a long day of driving!! The owners truly thought of everything. My kids immediately felt at home and found a variety of toys, puzzles and books to keep them engaged and unplugged! My husband and I were able to enjoy coffee on the deck with a beautiful view of the mountains while the kids walked the property looking for deer tracks. If we find ourselves up this way again, we will definitely book the cabin again!

Great place

If you want to be close to all the touristy action this is NOT the place for you. But for us the location was great. The property is well maintained. The owners were nice and friendly. There's a rice cooker and a crockpot for those who want to do a lot of cook. We don't personally care for select comfort beds but we were prepared for that with our own memory foam pads. We had a great time and would book again if ever in the area.

It was a cute and cozy cabin and the reviews were as they stated. Easy access to get in and the other thing is it is a little closer to the main road and you can hear the traffic going by. If you’re just wanting a place to stay because you’re there for the outdoor scenery then this is perfect!!
