USAFA Parents Weekend

We were six strong (two adults with four grown children). Neighborhood was quiet, safe and fairly easy to find/get to. 30 minutes to anywhere we wanted to go: USAFA, Helen Hunt Falls, downtown. Convenient to grocery stores, gas, shopping & restaurants. Property was *clean* and comfortable; accommodations were just right for our family (kitchen equipped with necessary basics for cooking & eating in). Back patio was lovely for hanging out and visiting. Beds were comfy and there was plenty of hot water for all of us to shower. Home had been remodeled since the photos were taken, so it was even nicer inside. Would definitely recommend and will seek out this property for our future USAFA visits!

When we arrived, the caretaker greeted us and showed us around. It was very generous of the caretaker to leave some breakfast and sandwich/salad as people were arriving on different days and different times of day. The house was clean and organized. It was unexpected and we were never notified prior to reserving the property that the caretaker stayed in the lower level. Nothing in the description indicated that. She stayed the first night and left early the next morning for the duration of our stay. No soap was provided in the 2nd bathroom and only one working smoking detector and the other had the battery removed. Current pictures of the property now are different than when we reserved it and stayed there. In further research of VRBO, it was commented that the host never is on the property. I did contact VRBO customer services after we returned home, and they also indicated host is never to stay on premises. I received a case number from customer services but never heard a response on my case. Sorry to say, next time I will verify no host on site during my stay at any future VRBO’s. Not sure if I can get any of my funds back for that inconvenience.
