Big Bear Lodge Retreat where friends & families gather and meet!

Experience Northern Michigan at it's best! Amazing views from beautiful 3 level log home on the 15th tee at Cedar Valley Golf Course. Full custom kitchen, laundry facility, great room with 23' ceilings, large family room, 2 Gas fireplaces, spacious decks, and attached 3 car garage. Will be decorated for Christmas the whole month of December & part of January.

Plenty of room to spread out in this 3200 sq. ft. three level home. Large deck and patio with large firepit outside. Enjoy cooking outdoors with our Weber Grill and a 36" Char Grill Griddle - perfect for making a variety of either breakfast, lunch or dinner meals on the Griddle! Enjoy our Hot Tub on lower patio off LL bathroom door with Bluetooth outdoor speakers. 8 Beach towels & 4 robes available for use.
Power Outages - Should you experience bad weather that causes a power outage in the area - no problem with our whole house generator that will keep you up and running like nothing happened allowing you to keep your vacation stay going!
Security Devices on Property - We have a Ring Doorbell on the main entry door on the porch that has video and audio recording capability. This is used for security purposes and also to allow us the ability to communicate with guests upon arrival if they have any problems entering the cabin upon check in.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful time this past weekend at Big Bear! The house is cozy and there is a lot of room. It was on a golf course which we loved as were avid golfers. The fun park across the street from the golf course is a great place to take the kids and get a sweet treat! We love the RV/campground that was also just down the road, it was a great idea if we ever wanted to go camping! The hosts supply you with all of your essentials and more. Sheets were super clean and floors were well kept! We were missing a few items, but no worries because they had them already supplied!!! Communication was INCREDIBLE! The documents provided beforehand were great and I was able to share them with all the guets so they knew what to expect. I'd advise getting groceries before arriving at a bigger chain store as they have more options then the market in Mio. Other than that, wonderful location. OH also two grills on the main deck... were AWESOME.

Lovely home for family holiday

Very spacious comfortable and beautiful home to fit 4 generations of family and friends. Everything you need is available. Beds are numerous and comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub and flattop grill to make easy large breakfasts.

There’s a Reason This Place Has Good Ratings!!

We stayed here for a bachelorette party and could not be happier with our stay!! The property is absolutely beautiful and cozy. Brian and Singrid were amazing hosts and kept communication very open and as frequent as needed! It’s a small town but we didn’t need much. We recommend the Knot Hole Bar nearby, order a Johnny Vegas and tell them we sent you! We loved the hot tub and the hosts kept the home very well stocked with towels and toiletries. We are so thankful. The one thing we all kept saying the whole weekend was “we HAVE to come back and stay here!!” Book this house, you will NOT regret it!

Weekend Friends and Family Get Away

We had an amazing time! Brian and Sigrid were great hosts the home was stunning plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. We just went for a nice unplug and relaxing weekend and the cozy home, the hot tub and fire pit were all perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better time!

Great place to spend time with Friends!

Great property! Stayed here with a group of old college friends (we graduated 35 years ago). Nice common areas to sit and talk, play cards, watch movies, and enjoy each others' company. Nice large property giving us each our own beds. We definitely will be back in a future year.

Great house for multiple families

Had a great stay. No real complaints about the property itself. The only issue to be aware about concerns the location. There are a few restaurants and shops nearish but grocery is about 20-30 minutes away and other main towns with activities like movies, bowling, waterpark are mostly about an hour away. This becomes much less of an issue if it’s summer time and there isn’t 2 feet of snow outside that limits kid activities

Beautiful serene, clean lodge

A group of us 8 ladies stayed for a Womens Winter Weekend. The lodge was the perfect size, allowing even a cozy-comfy bed for each. It's so accommodating for a group, yet it feels so cozy. the outdoor setting was so peaceful. We loved the outdoor hot-tub.

Another warm family gathering

A fantastic stay with family cooking and baking together in an open concept kitchen/dining/family area where we could all spread out comfortably and still be together in the same space. Each could retire for the day to their own room, kick back with a movie and video games downstairs in the theater
relax with bubbles and your own music in a large hot tub just outside, and grills at the ready for chicken, steak, and more. The wraparound porch provided uncanny views and plenty of family selfie opportunities. Would def vacay here again!

Best Christmas ever

We travel all over the world. And if you’re looking for a Halmark Christmas, well this is the place. The Owner was awesome. The cabin was awesome so many memories so much fun. We can’t say enough how this property was well maintained and had everything I mean everything. Thank you you so much for the Best Christmas ever We will be going back for summer vacation. Even Kids picked this over Disney World. So great!!

Family Christmas

We had 17 guest ranging from 6-70 and there was something and somewhere for everyone. They truly have thought of everything. They even had sleds for the kids. We were were all extremly happy with the rental. It wasnt our home but we felt at home.

Perfect Christmas Cabin mini-getaway

We wouldn't find a complaint if we tried. We drove just over 5 hours specifically to stay here for a quiet weekends with just my husband and I and our dog. We second everything every other perfect 5/5 review says. We have only positive things to say. It couldn't have been a better weekend at Big Bear Lodge. Thank you, Sigrid and Brian!
