In need of updating but relatively well maintained. We go for the pool-it is better than most hotel pools. Movie theater next door so we took in a movie. Construction on road in front that made it inconvenient to get out.

The room was kept in the best shape. The floors were sticky to walk on and you could visibly see that it needed to be mopped. The shower wasn’t the best. You could hear the people upstairs. The building sounded like it was constantly making noises making it difficult to sleep consistently.

There were wires and drop cords running all under our bed out of the wall as you can see in the pics are pillows were yellow and sweat so bad they were on the floor our whole stay , also door lock ripped out of the wall. In my opinion there’s not much I have positive to say about La Quinta. Also reported these issues to the manager. She said come back Monday while they had maintenance and they would fix it after we left, what a joke.

I chose this pet friendly property for a last minute trip to Cookeville with my daughter and our dog. The front desk clerk was friendly and professional. However, I was disappointed with the condition of my room. First thing I observed was the frayed carpet. I poked my foot on something sharp on the carpet edge. I confirmed that there was a piece of board with several small nails with light rust poking through the surface. I also observed several pieces of dog food from a previous occupant stuck in the crack. TI placed towels over the spot and called the hotel number using my cellphone since the bedside phone was not working. The front desk employee told me that he did not have any other rooms available so I could not get another room. I was only there for one night and wasn't sure that I would find another pet friendly hotel at such short notice so I decided to stay. I appreciated the front desk employee who used a hammer to bang the nails into the wood and advised me to keep the towels on the spot. He said he would speak to his manager about this incident but management has yet to follow up with me. I know La Quinta is a budget hotel but I think you definitely need to consider your customer's well being and health in situations like this. It could have been worse. In addition, the room door, bathroom door, and exterior side doors did not close automatically unless pushed. This is a safety hazard. I am considering taking further action.

It's not the hotel's fault, but getting into and out of the property is rough because of the road construction. Everything looked good upon initial examination, however the ice bucket was not clean, there was a broken tile in the bathroom floor that could possibly cut someone's foot, and the pillows are atrocious. It was impossible to get comfortable with them.
