Pleasant Two Night Stay

Great location, but the facade of the building is very nondescript and can easily be missed when driving. There is very little are or available area to pull out of traffic to unload, so be prepared to move quickly and please know large bags will be a detriment. Staff was incredibly welcoming and efficient. Hotel was clean, spacious room, gym was well equipped, and at check we paid for parking for a significant discount at the nearby City Hall parking garage. Overall very pleased. My only issue involved regulating the thermostat as the front desk managed it by timer and the amount to which you could regulate the temperature.

Wouldn’t trust them again.

I recently stayed at the Maldron Hotel South Mall Cork City and booked an Executive King room. Upon check-in with Valeria, we went to our room only to find a double bed, despite having paid extra for a king (€80 more). When I returned to the front desk, Magdalene insisted I hadn’t booked a king room and even suggested I “be more careful when booking next time.” She initially said nothing could be done. After I pressed the issue, she reluctantly switched us to another room with the proper king bed. Out of curiosity, I later checked their website and confirmed what I already suspected: there is no “super king” option—only double and king rooms. I brought this up again, and Valeria confirmed that I had in fact booked a king room, though she could not explain why her colleague had told me otherwise. Unfortunately, the entire exchange left me feeling misled and disappointed, especially since it seemed possible they were trying to hold rooms back for a large tour group arriving at the same time. Beyond this, both rooms we saw were poorly cleaned, the air conditioning did not function properly, and there was visible mold in the shower. Overall, the lack of service, questionable handling at the front desk, and poor room conditions overshadowed any positives. Sadly, I would not stay at this property again and cannot recommend Maldron Hotels to others.

We travelled for 4 weeks, 11 hotels and this was by far our favourite! Clean, comfy, spacious, and updated rooms! The breakfast was amazing! We were so close to the action on Oliver Plunkett and St. Patrick’s street. The staff were also amazing, at the front desk and the breakfast area! What a wonderful stay at a wonderful place!

Fantastic Hotel!

Lovely Hotel, arrived very late but the Man at Reception was very helpful. Room was great, lovely shower and the Breakfast was delicious. Minutes walk to the railway station.

We booked a regular room for two but received a wheel chair accessible room which was not our choice. The bigger issue was a nasty clogged shower drain which the hotel maintenance person was not able to fix. Before leaving our room, he told us that the management would help with changing the room for us. After waiting for a while for someone to call us, we went downstairs to find out that there were no other available rooms and the front desk repeated to us that the attempt to fix the shower drain was made and this was the best that the hotel could do for us. We ended up finding another manager who got us a new room - another wheel chair accessible room. That room’s bathroom was fine but we made a mistake throwing the decorative pillows on top of the tv cabinet and immediately saw how dust filled the entire room. At that point we just gave up because all we wanted was to get into a bed and sleep. The next morning we departed early. We do not recommend this hotel.
