Canal front house in 4 wheel drive Carova Beach area with large covered deck on the first floor to relax and get together. There are built in benches, a bar area, tables, adirondack chairs, and outdoor grills.

The first floor is a large game room with ceiling fans, foosball table, ping pong table, pool table, and a half bathroom. There is a separate refrigerator on first floor for guests' convenience. There is a queen sleeper sofa to relax, as well a large television.

Second floor with 4 bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom. Two of them have king size beds and queen sleeper sofas. These two rooms have sliding doors open to the covered porch with adirondack chairs. Third bedroom has a king and a queen beds. The fourth bedroom has 2 full/double beds. These two rooms share a balcony with a bistro style table and chairs, perfect for enjoying coffee in the morning.

Third floor with open floor plan with the kitchen open to dining and living area. An additional bedroom/ entertainment room has a queen bed, lazy boy love seat and tv.
Kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances.
The third floor has a beautiful screened in porch with separate dining area and a conversation sitting area to relax and enjoy the amazing view.

We also have two kayaks and you can launch them from the private deck. You can also fish and do crabbing from the canal. Please bring your own fishing rod.
This area is a mustang sanctuary, where wild mustangs roam free.

This property is in 4 wheel drive area. You have to drive on the beach for about 9 miles after the paved road ends and cross over one of the dune accesses. The roads are sand. So, four wheel drive vehicles are required.

New Carova Beach regulation:
Parking permit is required if you are planning to park vehicle on the beach between Memorial Day and Labor Day. We provide two permits each week. Additional permit can be purchased from Corolla visitor center for $50/week.

Mitchell Family Vacation

Alan and Kevin both go above and beyond to make sure your stay with them is a great time. Kevin goes out of his way to make sure you have everything you need and that everything is working properly and clean for the entire length of your stay. We had one small problem during our stay this time but not in any of our past experiences with these gentlemen but once I contacted Kevin he got it taken care of right away. Thanks again gentlemen it was fantastic we look forward to booking with you again soon.

Extraordinary OBX experience!

If you're looking to experience the OBX, this is the perfect place for that! Alan's place is well situated; secluded but easy to reach and have all the commodity for all your needs. We were a group of three family (14 people) and there were enough space for everybody. The nearby kayak ride into the marsh and the beach (and beach ride) were extraordinary! The play room with the pool table, ping-pong table and babyfoot game was really apreciated and a great way to keep the children occupied after we came back from the beach. The beach itself was very fun and not far (about three minutes car ride). Overall I rate Alan's place as a five stars vacation destination.

Amazing vacation!

We had a great experience from the initial booking and throughout our stay. Great responsiveness to questions we had, and the property was amazing and very clean. The area was very cool and we saw the horses every day, many times in the yard. Highly recommend booking this property!

Great views, but could have been cleaner

This house was great for our needs this year. The first floor has a beautiful built deck with a hot tub, bar stools and a outdoor couch with views of the lagoon. The wild horses frequented our yard very often and it was such an experience! Inside was a fully equipped game room with an additional fridge/freezer. Every room in the house had a full sized bathroom which was a major perk. The upstairs had a very open concept, and very nice decor touches. The kitchen was big enough for all of us to gather, with the living room visible for our small children to play. There were a few downsides. The sheets were visibly soiled. The property manager did provide us with a new set when he came to the house. The beds were not comfortable, ranging from very hard, to caving in the middle. The door to the screened in area was torn off and on the floor. We informed the property manager, and he said he hoped it would be fixed by the Wednesday of our stay. Although, it was never addressed for the length of our stay. We had to prop if closed shut with different objects so we could enjoy the true screened in room. The outside decks on all three floors didn’t look like they’ve been cleaned. We’ve stayed in Carova before, so we are aware of the smell of the water, and the tinted colors. Although, the smell was stronger than we’ve experienced before. All in all, it was a gorgeous house on a quiet lagoon with great amenities.

Perfect set up!

First time staying on the sound side and it was amazing to be able to fish off the dock and go kayaking. The house is set up perfectly for large families. The game room, hot tub and multiple decks were so nice to have for additional areas to hang out. If there is anything to complain about would be the smell of the faucet water but all the other things made up for that issue!

Nice stay

Our family had a nice time at this property. It was clean upon arrival and the pictures didn’t do it justice. We enjoyed fishing in the canal and the nice screened in porch. The house had all you could need. The ice machine was a nice perk. The water situation leaves a bit to be desired, BUT to be expected out there to some degree. Would not deter us from booking again. Thank you for another great week in Carova!

Amazing location!!

This property was everything we were looking for. Perfect canal location, short drive to the beach. House has plenty of room and you aren’t stacked onto each other. Plenty of room for outdoor activities ( cornhole, badminton, volley ball etc). Peaceful sitting on the screened deck watching the gorgeous sunset! Highly recommend!! Only con- the water there is very smelly so just bring drinking/cooking water.

Amazing!!

This house has it all! Perfect spot for a family vacation. We saw horses in the yard everyday, enjoyed kayaking and the porches with amazing views, fishing off the dock, the hot tub, a very short drive from the house to the beach. Amazing sunset views. We would definitely stay here again. The home owners & property manager were easy to get ahold of and very nice. The house was clean, spacious, and had almost everything you could need. Would recommend bringing a few bath towels & your beach towels. Driving on the 4X4 beach was a fun experience, thankfully we didn’t get stuck. Make sure your vehicle has good ground clearance & air down your tires. We saw horses on the beach too and rabbits, squirrels & deer along the way.

Wonderful home - everything you need!

This house is spacious, clean, and has everything you need. The hosts Alan and Boon were incredibly sweet and made sure everything was ready. The house has 5 bedrooms each with their own bathroom and plenty of beds. The upstairs is very large - with a big kitchen, big living room and large dining table. This is the perfect house for a large family or a few families. The basement game room was a blast, the dock is perfect for fishing off off and they even provided kayaks. Highly recommend!

Amazing

This place was FANTASTIC! The house was beautiful, the beach was amazing! We loved driving on the beach everyday it was so convenient and easy. We saw the wild horses everyday which was really cool. The house had plenty of room and fridge space which was really nice. Also Alan had really good communication and checked in with us halfway through the week. We had a few minor things come up and he got them fixed immediately which was awesome. Thank you so much for a great stay!

Great house, wonderful week!

We were looking for a place to escape to for a week that was secluded and where we felt safe, it was our first trip since the start of the pandemic and it was perfect. A huge thank you to Alan and Boone for being so hospitable and available when we had questions. The house was beautiful, we especially enjoyed the top floor where the kitchen, dining, and living area was situated. It was warm and inviting and the view of the sun setting was picturesque. We were surprised by wild horses galloping past us our first day on the beach, and later were visited by two mustangs in the front yard for the good part of a morning. Our stay was a real treat for the whole family.

An epic spring break

A last minute booking turned into just the adventure our family needed after a year of COVID. Alan and Boom’s beautiful home provided the perfect escape with plenty of activities for all ages. The drives on the beach, ponies in the neighborhood, kayaks, sunsets, and hot tub were best described by our daughter as epic. We look forward to returning in the future.

Excellent far north OBX location

Very comfortable place for 8 people, can accommodate more. Three floors and great outdoor spaces for everyone to spread out and enjoy all the property has to offer. Enjoyed routine visit from the wild horses and water access to the inter-coastal way.

Fun Getaway

This property made for a fun and amazing getaway! There are so many thoughtful touches to the house, including both indoor and outdoor activities. We enjoyed using the kayaks, fishing from the back yard, playing badminton in the front yard, and playing board games in the evening. The kitchen has every appliance or cookware that you might need. The beautiful beach was just a quick drive and there was plenty of space to play and relax.

Beautiful house and great location

This house is exactly as described and pictured. Walking in it felt like a brand new house. The layout is perfect and the game room was a hit. We used the screened in porch every morning to relax and have coffee. The 2nd fridge was good to have. There were horses on the property every day and one even swimming at the dock. The house also had a 5 gallon water machine we found convenient. The owners checked in with us a few times. Driving on the beach was so much fun and there was always a horses to see on the way. Great house and location!

This was our third time renting a house in the Carova Beach area and this house was hands down, the best! Alan and Boon greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the house and even checked in with us mid week to see if there was anything needed. They went above and beyond and clearly care about their guests having a great experience. The house was the perfect size and the game room was a big hit with the kids and the grown up “kids” as well. Loved having a bathroom with each room and two refrigerators. Space was definitely not an issue! Being on the sound offered a peaceful and beautiful setting with a screened in porch to watch the OBX sunsets! Kayaks, crabbing and trips to the beach only a minute away... this location and house had it all! We loved our time here and are looking forward to making the return trip.

Amazing House!!

This is an amazing house and location to stay. The house was extremely clean and up to date. The owner even bought a high chair before we arrived after I asked if there was one at the house. There wasn't so, so they went out of there way to provide one. You can kayak, crab and fish on the canal steps away from the house. The kids absolutely loved this along with the horses that visited every day. Excellent idea with every room having their own bathroom as well!! Especially when you come back from the beach and everyone wants to get cleaned up. The screened-in porch was great!! We even had a movie night out on it with our projector. I can't say enough about this place and the how accommodating the owners are!!!
