Once upon a time on a natural sand dune in Port Aransas sprung up the most unusual property in this Beach Community, The Dome and Cottage in the Dunes. This quaint, quiet and supremely comfortable beachy cottage shares the pristine pool with the property owner at the Dome house. The owner doesn't use the pool when there are guests at the Cottage so it's yours alone. The Cottage in the Dunes has its own deck overlooking the pool and is elevated from the street by about 20 steps. The landscaping which is both tropical and inviting and will welcome you to this getaway for your weekend, honeymoon, or small family vacation. Be sure and inquire if your group needs to add additional sleeping at our nearby properties.

VRBO does not currently collect city hotel tax for us. We will ask for that and any pet fees prior to check in. We will then make sure you have directions and easy check in procedure.

We had a lovely time here! Wish we could have stayed longer! The only thing I would advise is that the beach is .1 miles away ...as the seagull flies...by foot or car is closer to .25 miles. Not a big deal. Anyway, Ann and Rebecca stayed in close contact with me, by text and phone, throughout our trip. The instructions on check in and out were clearly communicated...all kinds of conveniences on hand to make sure we were comfortable...LOVE the outdoor shower! The neighborhood is quiet and we love that the place is so close to town. Rebecca even texted about a local celebration for Earth Day in which we could participate. This is a nice place for a couple with one or two smaller kiddos. Lots of areas for storage for longer stays.Pool is clean, lots of seating and the fabric awnings keep the area cool in the afternoon.Thanks for a lovely time!

We had a wonderful stay at the Cottage in the Dunes. Anne was very responsive and followed through on everything we were to expect. The furnishings were comfy and very homelike. Lots of cooking equipment as well. Steep climb to get to house was a little rough for us old folks but well lit. Too cold for pool but was lovely sitting outside, quiet neighborhood.

Very quiet location with a 10-12 minute walk to beach. Beautiful pool next to cottage. Our 8-month-old Great Pyrenees felt at home. Clean living area, kitchen, bath and bedroom, well-appointed. Responsive hosts who are nearby and quick to respond to questions. Most restaurants and stores within a mile to 1.5 miles. We would stay here again

We had such a wonderful stay in Port A! The home was even better than expected. The private pool was perfect for relaxing after the beach, and we loved that it was dog-friendly so our pup could come along too. Perfect Anniversary Trip

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend stay at the cottage in the dunes! It was the perfect place for the two of us plus our dog. We loved having a private pool to cool off in after a day at the beach, and loved how close the property is to the beach access point. It was the perfect location to get to everything in town as well! We would definitely come back.

My small family loved this little cottage! The in-ground private pool was absolutely the best feature. We did not want to get out! It has no shade during midday so plan accordingly!We bought a parking pass for the beach because it was easier than the 12 minute walk over there when you have two littles. But it is an easy walk for anyone not carrying too much baggage.We also had our two medium dogs with us. They loved going to the little dog yard a couple of houses down.My family loved this place so much that we extended our stay an extra day!Even though the cottage is quaint, it easily fit our family of 4 and 2 fur babies. I highly suggest this home away from home for anyone that can climb the steps.

We love this place

This is our go to property for a relaxing get away in Port Aransas. This place is perfect for two or three people that like to split their time between the beach and private time next to the pool. It's clean and has everything you need to cook and watch movies after a full day hanging at the beach and swimming away the afternoon.
