Idle Speed - In the ❀ of Pickwick

Idle Speed is a private home tucked away in the woods in a quiet little neighborhood off Holiday Hills Lane minutes from marinas, restaurants, and the grocery store. The open floor plan allows you to spend quality time together cooking, talking, watching tv, playing games and more. Working from home? We got you covered with super fast wifi, several laptop friendly spaces and a wireless printer. You can use the neighborhood boat ramp around the corner and avoid the crowded public ramps. There is plenty of parking at the house for your boat, seadoo, 4 wheeler, or side by side so bring your toys because Idle Speed is the perfect base camp for all your Pickwick adventures.

DEN
The large den boasts a beautiful stone fire place with floor to ceiling windows, a huge sectional for lounging, a dining table for 6, 55" smart tv and custom woodwork throughout. Plenty of natural light and views of the woods and wildlife surrounding the house.

KITCHEN
The kitchen features hardwood floors, granite countertops, and a pull up bar. Fully equipped it includes: electric range, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, trash compactor, Mr. Coffee maker, blender, electric griddle, waffle maker, and all the pots, pans, and casserole dishes you need.

MASTER BED
The master bedroom is off of the kitchen and includes a queen bed, 2 closets, granite countertop, separate shower and Jacuzzi tub for soaking.

LOFT
The upstairs includes a primary and secondary loft. The main loft includes a full bath with shower, full bed, twin bed, and pull out sofa bed (extra linens in the bathroom closet). Climb up the latter to the upper loft to find another full bed.

LAUNDRY
The laundry room is located off the kitchen with an extra deep washer and dryer. Plenty of detergent and accessories are located in cabinets.

OUTDOORS
Outdoors you will find a wrap around deck, gas grill and everyone's favorite hangout the Treehouse. The Treehouse has a comfy sectional, gas fire pit, and pub table. A wood burning fire pit can be found out front with 2 driveways for plenty of parking and room to park your boat, 4 wheeler, or side by side.

Great Family Vacation

We invited our grown children to join our family vacation. They spent the days working remotely from the house while we took our younger two out exploring the area during the day. We all reconvened in the evenings by enjoying suppers together and hanging out as a family in the treehouse having great conversations well into the night. It was peaceful and wonderful. The hosts were super communicative over minor issue and worked quickly with us to resolve it. I definitely recommend staying here in this peaceful and quiet setting.

Again and again

We’ve stayed at this property in the past and it’s still a hit. It is clean and well maintained. The tree house and top loft is always a favorite! Meredith is friendly and communicates everything you need while still being assessable. We’re be back soon!

Fantastic!

This property was amazing! Cabin feel, beautiful windows! Everything we needed and things we didn’t think we would need were all there. Absolutely loved the tree house and deck! Clean and comfortable. The host was amazing. Meredith checked on us throughout. The area is perfect for a long weekend with the family. We did not want to leave.

Summer Weekend at Idlespeed

We had an excellent time at Idlespeed for a long weekend. Everything is just as it is captured in the pictures and more! The owner is very engaged in making the stay as pleasant as possible. Hopefully it will be available the next time we are over that way.

Great place to stay while fishing lake Pickwick.

The place was clean, nice and perfectly located for what we wanted. There was a load of towels in the washing machine that had mildewed, but we washed and put up. Other than that, the experience was great and will stay again if we are ever in the area.

A mom throwing her daughter a clean bachelorette weekend!

This was the perfect place for me to take my daughter and her bridesmaids for some awesome food awesome games and great environment for pictures. We loved the access to so many different places around. This house was the perfect spot for a group of girls.

A few minutes from Shiloh

This is the first time ever reserving a home online. I had reservations (not sure) but hoping like heck it wasn't a scam. This has been a very positive experience, there are other dates I need to get homes reserved for and I'm sticking with Vrbo.!! Totally!. The house worked well and the only question we had regarding an item was answered by our host in a quick fashion and fixed to our satisfaction.almost immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to give 4+ rating.

Just what the doctor ordered

My family and I needed a getaway and this property was perfect. It was clean and had everything you needed stocked. If you need anything it’s close to a store and grocery. It was spacious and exactly as pictured. The only down side was I wished I would’ve booked more time. I didn’t want to leave however I will be back!

Amazing Host

The cabin was amazing and Meredith was so helpful. Bathrooms were well stocked with towels and toiletries. There was enough seating in the livingroom and at the table for our family. Beds were comfy.
