Cozy Custom Log Cabin Nestled within Mile High Estates
Welcome to your home away from home! Nestled within the beautiful Mile High Estates at Face Lake; located just 3.5 hours from Vancouver, between Merritt and Kamloops.
Open concept kitchen opens into a spacious and welcoming great room with high ceilings and large windows looking out onto a wraparound deck with expansive views.
With 4 beds and 3 baths, this custom log cabin has plenty of room for entertaining indoors as it does outdoors. Surrounded by lakes and trails, there's an endless list of activities that can satisfy everyone from fishing to hiking, ice-fishing, atv and dirt biking, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
This was a great cabin for a mountain getaway. Lots of space to sleep. Clean and tidy. Everything we needed to cook and prep our meals. Dog friendly. Play board games that they supplied at the house every night. Lots of fishing, paddle boarding on face Lake.
Me and 6 friends stayed for 3 nights and had a blast. Super spacious and comfy. Needs a bigger couch and a pool table but everything else was fantastic. Would definitely stay again.
house is beautiful, a little too far to walk to lake and back (uphill) for kids and senior adults. easy to communicate to owners. telus phone does not work for calls at house or lake, but wifi is good - roger worked fine
I was there with 3 other friends to go mountain biking in the region. The cabin was perfect for the 4 of us. We could of been more if we wanted. Communication with the owner was pretty fast ans easy throught the app on your phone. We had access to wood for the fire pit outside of the fire place inside. I would suggest the place to all of you without any problem. Its a very beautiful log cabin, you'll love it. Lots of space and the kitchen is good to cook. We did lots of cooking and we enjoyed it.
The place was beautiful and quiet and clean and comfortable. Communication with the host was great, and they went above and beyond by bringing us an iron for our wedding attire. There should have been a few instructions on how to figure out the tv and the wood stove. And unfortunately the upstairs ensuite shower did not have hot water. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to family and friends.
Spent a weekend here with some friends, exactly what we were looking for, a cabin out of the city but not too remote so that everyone can make it up. Had a great time.
We had a wonderful stay at Mile High Estates! The cabin is beautiful - lots of room with beds and three full bathrooms. Laundry, foosball, bbq, fire pit, outdoor seating, woodstove...it was well suited for a weekend getaway for my family. We fished, hiked, walked and enjoyed the gorgeous fall scenery. It had been 20 years since we had been up to the area - so we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Excellent communication - check-in was smooth, questions were answered in a timely manner - owners are awesome!
The beauty of this home matches the pictures! I have been so happy with my experience at this property since the moment we confirmed our reservation. We received communication from the hosts immediately and from that moment on they were very prompt to respond to any inquiries we had before and during our stay. The cabin is incredibly spacious and accommodating with a beautiful wrap around patio along with 2 additional patios off the top floor. There is a bathroom on each floor which is great. There amount of beds made us excited for future visits with family. The necessities provided were great. We were checked on once by the hosts because we had enquired about using the fire place and they wanted to be sure we had no problems which we did appreciated. Clean up requirements were nice and simple. We chose this as an adults weekend only but cannot wait to return with our children and to make this a recurrent visit! Ken and Sharon are incredibly friendly and kind, we spent some time chatting with them when we were leaving, we look forward to seeing them again. For anyone looking to stay somewhere I recommend this cabin very much. For anyone who doesnât love the idea of the homeowners being close by, these beautiful hosts are not always on site, but were while we were there but they were amazing, noninvasive, inviting, friendly, and did not make there presence known really. 100/100 visit! We are already looking to book our next visit.
âThe girls trip that made it out of chatâ
We had an amazing weekend away in this home away from home. The kitchen was perfect to make all our meals in! Lots of space and beds for everyone. This cabin is exactly how itâs described in the listing and the hosts are just wonderful! A easy walk to the lake! I canât wait to book this again for next year!
We had 4 couples at the cabin. It was spacious for us all. We were close to Lac La Jeune lake to swim. Face lake was nice but no beach to put chairs on and really enjoy the lake. Possibly the resort side could have been fine but because we had a dog with us we could not explore that option. The cabin was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Would stay again.
The cabin sleeps 12-14 given the number of beds. There were 6 of us (3 adults, 3 children) and we were charged 100$ for 3 'extra' members of our family. We knew this going in, but in hindsight thats ridiculous just for some extra laundry and bed making. We did all our own laundry, dishes and had to take our garbage with us or suffer a 50$ fee.
The handrails on site are unsafe and in need of repairs. One of the stair treads was also loose. They had signs posted about the railings, which look like they were posted last year (or the year before) given the signs of aging. You'd think the additional guest fees would be put to better use to fix up the place. Imagine if someone stumbled into the railings and fell.
The upper floor and basement shower were grosse. We all opted to use the mainfloor bathroom. Grime and hair in both.
The cabin had no clear address. We had to stop and ask the cleaners at another unit which one it was. No welcome basket and minimal effort given from host to make it informative and welcoming... not sure why I was charged a host fee. No board games, cards, little to no kitchen spices and the laundry detergent was chunky.
The location was beautiful, however some of the locals were rude when enforcing the strata rules. The rules were not posted but certainly were enforced.
I feel bad leaving such a negative review but I have to be honest about my stay. The cabin felt like more of an after thought, rather than something someone really cares about.
Pros:
-Big and spacious cabin with easy key pad entry. Pet friendly.
-Lots of clean towels and wood for the fireplace.
-Beds on main floor and upstairs were comfortable. Did not sleep downstairs.
- Property manager was responsive and easy to communicate with prior and during stay to answer questions and concerns.
Cons:
- no toilet paper, paper towels or hair dryer upon arrival. Cleaner must have overlooked this. Texted Property manager and someone came by to deliver some shortly after.
- washrooms not as clean as they should be. Bathtub on main floor was severely clogged before our arrival making it not usable during our 2 night stay. We told the Property manager and they apologized for the inconvenience.
Upstairs shower works but the water flow is super weak, so our group of 6 had to resort to using one working shower in the basement.
Many small issues we noticed which if improved could result in an even more pleasant stay. Kitchen is well equipped, but water kettle could use an upgrade.
Thank you Ken and Sue! My seven sisters and I had an absolutely wonderful Sisters Retreat! The facility was immaculately clean, everything was there for us to have a relaxing stay. Wood was provided for the stove (some paper for starting fires would be appreciated). The kitchen was convenient and the furniture and big beds comfortable. (The basement beds could use a bit better mattresses) All in all, we would stay again!
