Kentucky Hollow-Mammoth Cave Cabin and Horse Barn
Stay close to the park! This updated cabin provides an enjoyable stay for every type of Mammoth Cave visitor. There is a four stall barn on the property that is available for guests to use. The home comfortably sleeps five, with room for a sixth on the couch. The home is less than two miles from a trailhead that can be used by both horseback riders and hikers alike. If you plan to bring your horses, please send me a message before booking.
Kentucky Hollow was the perfect place for our family. The cabin is exactly as described. The kitchen is well equipped to cook in which we did often. We enjoyed the outdoor space for our two small dogs and the walk to the end of the road was a perfect way to start the day. We took the Green RIver ferry every time we went to the park. This was a great time saver and such a nice drive to the ferry. If youâre hiking like we did, check out the trails close to the cabin. They are much less traveled than the ones closest to the caves. Kentucky Hollow is a bit of a drive from grocery stories and restaurants so plan in advance. We thoroughly enjoyed being away from all the tourist attractions in Cave City. If youâre coming up from the south like we did, make sure and stop by Peace Valley Amish market. Wonderful fresh produce, baked goods, plants and handmade items! We will certainly visit again and will return to Kentucky Hollow.
The checkin was super easy, and the house and property were beautiful. Coffee was stocked which was a very nice touch! Definitely recommended this cabin.
This is an adorable cabin in a very remote setting. Well stocked & comfortable. Just need to make note that the other entrance to Mammoth Cave is 40 min away when the ferry is closed (we missed our tour).
The cabin was great. Perfect size for our family of 4 (2 sons 18+). The hubby and sons loved having the pond right there. Caught fish after fish. Nice fire pit to relax at in the evening. The location was great if using the Ferry. Very nice getaway.
Beautiful home with great coffee station! Rural road where my dogs could run off leash after a long drive. Really neat to take the ferry across the river to get to Mammoth Cave. Location was remote and perfect. Home was clean and very well appointed! Thanks for a perfect stay!

We really enjoyed our stay and had a great time. Tabitha made sure we were well taken care of. Despite the lack of cooperation from the weather my family had a lot of fun. Thanks!!!
We loved this cabin. It was the perfect size for our family of four. It was very clean and the property well-managed! The play set for the kids was nice, even though they only got one day on it due to rain. The fire pit area outside is lovely but we didnât use it due to rain and it not being cool enough. The only negatives (which arenât really negative) was that the WiFi was very spotty (my husband was unable to do a little work he needed to do) and the location is 30-45 minutes from any area attractions and restaurants. This wasnât a big deal to us but others may want to take that into consideration when looking for accommodations. Also, there is no bathtub but the shower is nice although small. The cabin had everything we needed for cooking, washing clothes/dishes, and for comfort (all linens, extra blankets, nice pillows, towels, etc.). We very much enjoyed our stay!
If you want a quiet, beautiful spot to relax and enjoy nature, this is the place for you! Awesome countryside and beautiful starry skies at night. Enjoyed deer roaming in the evenings and a fox family in the mornings. This was the perfect cabin to spend with the family for the weekend. We absolutely loved it!
Every May my family goes to a national park to stay for an extended weekend, Mammoth Cave was the destination this year. The property was more than we we imagined. There is a firepit out back that isn't in the pictures, along with a playset for the kids. I don't think that the pictures of the home itself does it justice either. There was just enough room for my little family, but also the family area was pleasant, you can be in the living room/kitchen/dining area and still be together as a family and not be in separate rooms. We had a fire both nights, and the neighbors were fantastic! They gave us some firewood for the fire so that we didn't use all that was provided or have to buy some. The location is great, being near all of the Amish and hearing the clicking of the horse hooves as they rode past the house. This place was exactly what we needed! Thank you so much for your fast responses and information that you provided. Would definitely come back.
Just loved how quiet this place was out in the country. We had spent some time out on the front porch rocking chairs. This place came with all types of coffee. Normally, we have stayed at places that just get you buy until you can run to the store. There were no steps! The bed was comfortable. Just loved all the wood work. The dogs got plenty of walks. You drive to the Green River Ferry was a one lane gravel road (20 minutes) to the Mammoth Cave park. We never saw another car while we traveled to theferry on this back country try road. We got surprised by a horse and buggy while our walking the dogs late afternoon.
This cabin was the perfect getaway for my family! The kitchen had good supplies and the cabin was very modern. Not shown in the pictures is a beautiful fire pit with chairs lining it. The location was perfect too. With the car ferry, we were roughly 25 minutes from Mammoth Caves National Park. We couldn't have had a better week at Cub Run.
We had a nice stay at this property. The cabin was very clean and stocked with the essentials for our stay. The property manager was very quick to respond before and during our stay with any questions and even reached out to let us know of a road (ferry, actually) closure nearby on one the days of our trip.
The tricky thing about the Mammoth Cave area is the location. There are many run down properties throughout the area amongst the nicer homes and rentals. This property was equipped with security cameras outside and we felt safe during our stay. There is also nothing really in terms of grocery stores nearby so make sure you stop when you are an hour or so from this destination to get any supplies you might need!
Mammoth Caves is only about 10 miles from this property but it will take you close to 45 minutes (during the off season - light traffic) to get to Mammoth Caves National Park. Unless you stay on National Park property - you won't get much closer. The drive is beautiful and the shortest route to the National Park features a ferry boat ride which our family really enjoyed. We also drove to Bowling Green one day which was a nice day trip - about 45 minutes - from the rental.
Our family would stay at this property again and would recommend it to others.
