Along with a restaurant, there's a coffee shop/cafe on site. Free breakfast is available daily. A terrace, multilingual staff, and tour/ticket assistance are also featured at El Balcon.
Great hotel coupled with excellent views along with scrumptious food served in their restaurant which is all locally sourced. Even included hairdryer, bathrobe and fresh fruit in the room.
The entrance is somewhat underwhelming because of it being in a street with mostly walls and occasional entry doors. Once inside you realize you are in a very old hacienda. Was told it was from the 1680's. The rooms are unlike what you will see in modern hotels. But charming. Also great view of Cusco from the balcony. Only negative is lack of elevators ( but only 2 floors) and lack of outlets near the beds to charge phones etc. Small vegetable/herb garden in the courtyard.
Rooms were simple but had a nice design. The common area gardens were lovely. Comfortable beds and linens. Breakfast was fresh and had high quality ingredients. Staff was friendly. As others said, bathrooms were just ok, a bit musty, and could use a refresh and renovation to match the better quality of the rooms and overall hotel itself. I booked ahead of time and got a good price and value.
A great place to stay with a nice garden and great views from the balcony. Staff were nice and helpful. Special thanks to the kitchen staff - very friendly and considerate. Love the breakfast. Downside could be room condition and cleanliness. But overall it was a good stay.
We stayed there for 2 nights. Breakfast was good and fresh.
The hotel is located on a very busy street. It was noisy during the day and night. If you are light sleeper, i wouldn't recommend this place.
The bathroom does not have a vent. And they only provide a shampoo/body wash, no hair conditioner.
The room does not have a wall heater. They only provide a portable heater for the room which was not enough to heat the room at night.
I dont think this place was worth the money. Also the sign at the front of the hotel showing it is a hostal
The location of El Balcon is excellent - within walking distance to the Plaza de Armas and lots of stores along the way. The garden was beautiful and the breakfast was tasty. The staff was helpful and accommodating - they allowed us to drop off our bags at the hotel early (before checking in) so we could go explore the city without lugging things around. The issues that we had was that it was very cold at night (they did provide a space heater that helped a little) and there was only wifi reception in the lobby. The vent window for the bathroom was broken, so we had a very wet and humid bathroom and our things would not dry. We were supposed to stay in this hotel for an additional 3 nights but decided to find somewhere else to stay.
