***THE LISTING SAYS “HEATED POOL” and “HOT TUB.” NEITHER ARE TRUE!!!***This trip was a staycation for my friend’s 50th birthday. I was looking for a place with all the amenities specifically a heated pool and hot tub. The listing claims these to be part of the stay however when we got there, the pool was dirty and FREEZING as well as the hot tub. We had packed our suits and robes. We were planning to spend much of our time relaxing in the hot tub. So, this revelation drastically altered the structure our staycation. We ended up laying on the couch watching TV instead. So, ultimately, I ended up spending 340 to watch tv on a shabby futon and walk the Katy Trail (something we could have done from my friend’s house). Surely, we paid for these amenities as those things factor into pricing. I brought the issue to the host who, while she responded to the email, fully ignored that bit. She never addressed the complaint. I was pretty surprised by that as I usually have good luck with VRBO. I haven’t checked yet to see if the host has edited the listing since bringing this to their attention. TLDR:Pros: great location, cute apartment, decent view, reserved parking.Cons: false advertising regarding working amenities, shabby furniture/decor/rugs, squeaky bed, sleeping directly under a massive power line that runs along the Katy Trail.
