Property was beautiful and house had a great layout. Very close to the ski resort. Cleanliness was an issue. Very dusty with dead flies in all rooms. Rugs need to be cleaned.

Perfect Chill Getaway

The house was perfect for us. 4 bathrooms so no one had to share! Loved the Electrolux washer/dryer and Williams Sonoma dishes. We take lots of long weekend trips and the little touches make being away from home easier. We love to find the vacation homes with the same amenities we’re accustomed to having at home. The kids adored the path in the backyard. Definitely a highlight for them! Thanks so much for sharing this home with us. We sincerely enjoyed everything.

Beautiful!

The property is stunningly beautiful in its surroundings. The inside is very well laid out and easy to relax in. Great high-end appliances and four well appointed bathrooms add to the comfort of this perfect property. Plenty of dishes and cookware. An unforeseeable plumbing issue occurred but the management company (Donna) were so quick to respond and the plumbers were sent to take care of it in a timely manner. Cannot overstate the friendliness and professionalism of all. Looking forward to coming again! Thank you.

Great location!

This property is in a very quiet neighborhood with privacy. There was plenty of room for 8 adults, most of our time was spent outside and hiking though. One suggestion would be to have fans in the bedroom, just to have some air moving. There were a couple of things needing fixed but nothing major. There is wi-fi but not enough if you need to do any work. That is expected probably with how remote the area is. Overall it was a great place to get away!

Beautiful and relaxing oasis in the woods

Beautiful and secluded 4 bedroom home we loved that 2 bedrooms with their own baths were off each side of the main living room. The wrap around deck always gave us a sunny location to read, watch the deer and barbecue. The grill was simple to use as it was hooked to the gas line and the house was decorated tastefully and beds were comfy. The hot tub is getting a little care-worn but was clean and functional and we enjoyed both that and the fire pit in the evenings. Close to sightseeing and shops.

Beautiful cabin

We stayed here for 5days in May. This cabin was absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed. The property had a beautiful, serene view with Adirondack chairs. The beds were comfortable and all the bathrooms were updated. The only concern I would have would be the loft. The stairs were pretty steep on the 3 last steps going into the loft. My 11 and 13 year old had no difficulty with it but if we had young children, I wouldn’t let them up there. It was great to come back every night for a dip in the hot tub. We didn’t get to use the grill or fire pit this time but loved that it was an option. The cable wasn’t working but that was fixed the first few days we were there. Also, thank you to Best of Canaan for your quick response on all my questions and the ease of check-in and check-out. We will definitely be coming back!

Almost perfect

The homeowners have thought of almost all of the essentials for the trip. I love that there were enough hand towels, laundry detergent, spices and tools to chop fire wood (although the guys commented that it could stand to be sharpened). The fireplace and fairy lights are a nice touch. I love the seclusion, safety, and coziness of the house and we had a great time during our stay. I would recommend that the owners upgrade the hot tub before I would stay here again, however. Not all of the functions work on it and it has a very unappealing appearance. Our family members even discussed how we could make it our yearly getaway house (once to twice a year) if the hot tub was upgraded... it was a feature we were REALLY looking forward to and it just wasn’t appealing. Everything else about the house is pretty near perfect.

House in the woods

We enjoyed the house in the woods. The house had everything we needed for a family weekend getAway! We like to do a l out of cooking and hanging at the house. The hot tub, wooded yard, fire pit allowed us to have a blast at the house! It was a short drive to tubing fun at Canaan Valley. Beautiful house! Thank you!
