Suberb heritage hotel

This is a wonderful hotel where the staff simply cannot do enough for you. It's a oasis of calm amongst the hustle and bustle of Delhi. We will definitely return.

This historic hotel dates back to the British Colonial era and still retains classic details. It is an oasis of park-like grounds, comfortable rooms, friendly attentive service and good food offerings. Of all these features what really makes it special is the staff. You feel welcome and important from the moment you enter until you check out. In our case the general manager went so far as to contact our next Oberoi hotel destination in Agra and ensure we received the same warm reception there.

Excellent stays. We split up our time in India and Nepal and used Maiden’s as our home base. We left unneeded luggage at the hotel for different legs of our trip. We were warmly welcomed “home” each of the three stays. Our adult children had their own suite and loved the amenities. The pool area is wonderful, with peacocks, parakeets and dozens of other kinds of birds. Silky water to soothe sore feet and cool off comfortably after a day of touristing.

OMG. Maidens, where have you been hiding? I've traveled to Delhi for decades. The Taj Palace & The Leela are like home. Familiar faces, familiar comforts. This time, I needed a hotel near the hospital where my mom was having surgery. The Maidens. Turning into the driveway, I was hit with a wow. Grand arches. Sweeping balconies. White Indo-Colonial architecture. A quiet, elegant lobby. Not trying too hard to impress. The Maidens lets its soul speak. I couldn't stop turning my head, breathing in every small detail. I didn’t grow up with this kind of glamour, but it still felt familiar. Even the sweet, rose-water-infused welcome drink—I could taste my childhood in it. The feeling continued into my suite: soaring ceilings, antique floors, an elegant, quiet bedroom. The best 4 hours of sleep I’ve had in ages. Knowing I'd leave early, I had a packed breakfast waiting for me. Small gesture. Huge impact. One last thing—when I stepped outside, I was hit with this heady, gorgeous fragrance—jasmine maybe? The air was full of it. Not a curated hotel scent (no insult intended, Taj & Leela). This was real. Organic. If I had to describe my experience in one sentence—it felt like running barefoot across a hot aangan, a feeling only Indians can understand. I still love you Taj & Leela, but the Maidens did what you can't. It made me feel happy. Special shoutout to Deepika for fixing my botched booking & upgrading me to a suite. Also, where did you get your period lights? I must know!!

Wonderful hotel with fantastic staff

Loved our stay at this rustic Indian hotel, the staff were so helpful and felt like they really cared about guests enjoying their stay. Water was free flowing, the rooms were lovely and quiet and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend, great location as well

I think this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Excellent service - all staff friendly and welcoming. Everywhere spotless. Beautiful pool. Lovely oasis in the city - quiet, surrounded by nature. Great food and drink. Amazing attention to detail and very quick room service.

We stayed at the Madiens Hotel for five days. It is a beautiful heritage hotel which evokes the elegant aspects of the period of British rule in India. A beautiful hotel. The staff are phenomenal, know you by name, and staff I’ve never spoken to knew of my allergy and took care to cater around it. We were upgraded on arrival (no reason given, maybe because it was Republic day, maybe because it was my birthday). The suites are fantastic - spacious, comfortable beds, and the housekeeper left us a gift of a coin purse (which I just now realise we left behind!). We had a series of unfortunate events while here, which the staff handled excellently. We had a leak in our room after the first night (AC issue). Immediately fixed and sincere apologies. Unfortunately they, or house keeping, didn’t pull the door fully shut and our room was not locked for the entirety of the day. A visit from both the head house keeper and the general manager to sincerely apologise, and a free meal provided. Unfortunately that free meal had its own disasters; my starter arrived on a dirty plate and my main was forgotten about entirely. You could see the staff were mortified, and did everything they could to improve my experience. I don’t say this to put anyone off, I firmly believe that the best way to know a business is to see how they respond when something goes wrong, not when everything goes right. And this hotel was exceptional. My only negative comment, the laundry is EXPENSIVE even by UK standards. I’m sad I wasn’t able to stay longer, as this was truly a great stay.
