Our stay was fine overall, but the house felt more functional than comfortable.Most importantly, we discovered during our stay that the property was actively for sale, which had not been disclosed. The listing photos appear to be the staged real-estate photos. While mostly accurate, quite a bit of the decor shown was no longer there, so the house felt much less warm and homey in person. It had the basics—beds, towels, etc.—but overall felt minimally set up as a vacation rental.The property is managed by a third-party company. They were generally responsive, but the experience felt reactive. Before our stay I asked whether there were beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas. They said they would check and never followed up. The house guide also wasn’t accessible; when I asked about it, they said they couldn’t access it either and to just contact them with questions. That isn’t really a substitute for having the information available, since you don’t always know what you need to ask.I also didn’t like finding out accidentally that the house was for sale. I was reassured that no one would access the property during our stay, but I still think guests should be told this upfront.Nothing was terribly wrong, but overall it was an okay rather than particularly comfortable or thoughtfully hosted stay.
