Whale Pointe - Oregon Beach Vacations

Whale Pointe is a charming two-bedroom cottage with a full-size loft sitting on a high bank near Rocky Creek, just south of Depoe Bay. This vacation cottage is perfect for one or two couples. With a large semi-private oceanfront deck, you can easily hear the whales as they come up to feed along the shoreline or rub on the rocks. The cottage has a small kitchen, just right for preparing an easy meal. If you prefer to dine out, visit one of the many wonderful restaurants nearby in Depoe Bay. On the first floor is an oceanfront bedroom with a queen bed, a sitting area, and a gas stove. A kitchen with a mid-size fridge, a bathroom, and the laundry room are also on this main level. Upstairs is a family room/living room area, which also doubles as a private bedroom. With fabulous views from this upper-story room, you will be hard-pressed to decide if you want to watch the flat panel TV or the waves crashing into the shore! An electric fireplace heats this room and provides a fine ambiance. A dining table for four is a nice place to enjoy the evening sunset while eating or playing games. Comfortable and cozy, this cottage is perfect for a small family. This dog-friendly cottage also has many books, board games, beach toys, cable TV, a CD player, and Wi-Fi for added entertainment. The expansive outdoor deck is the perfect spot to enjoy the ocean. During the winter, sit in the enclosed portion of the deck where you can watch the storms without getting wet or blasted with wind. Guests can enjoy the semi-private common space shared with the other home on site and the oceanfront deck for your outdoor entertainment. Check out Whale Pointe with your loved ones today!

The views were absolutely incredible, we could have just sat in front of the window all day. The house was great too, kitchen was a little small for folks that like to cook and the fridge is incredibly small 
 not ideal for longer stays unless you plan on eating out most days (unfortunate because the views are so amazing ) :) we will definitely be back!!

The house was completely funky with very little room. The kitchen is very small with a dwarf refer. It was advertised as 2 bedrooms and the second bed was in an open area with no privacy and a bathroom far away. Terrible!

Decent with faults

The place was hard to find since the information in the email was not correct. There was no whale at the end of the driveway like we were told so we passed it the first time. When we arrived there was water on the bathroom floor which is whatever things happen who knows. But found out that the toilet was leaking from underneath so we have to keep paper towels in the bathroom for clean up. We went upstairs to set our stuff down and looked at the bed and the sheets were stained and the blanket smelled musty. But we wanted to stay in the upper room so we just put our shirts over the pillow cases and used a personal blanket and slept on top of the sheets. The door that is next to the parking spaces does not have a light or a key. Since we brought our dog it was the best door to take him out to the relieve himself but had to carry a flashlight or turn on my headlights to see. Same with coming home in the dark there is no light until you set off the motion sensor inside the covered area. The keys were not labeled well so we had to try both boxes to get in and get the key. The signs where to park were crudely written with a ballpoint pen and on very small pieces of paper taped to some doors near the parking spots. We ended up parked wrong the first afternoon. Upon checkout it said to load a dishwasher that was not there so we just left the 2 forks we used in the sink. Not at fault of the company but there was so cell service in the house at all and the WiFi was very spotty as well

Stunning views

Using the lock box was tricky. The house was adequate but you can not tell by the photos how awkwardly it is set up, House allows dogs which is one reason we chose it, but there are many stains on the carpets. Absolutely stunning views!

Place is badly needing updates. Comforters are old n worn. Dishes are mis- matched n chipped. Spots on carpet. Views are terrific. The late check in and early out also make it difficult to really enjoy much time there.

Stunning property

We can't say enough about the amazing view from every window in this property. Loved sitting on the deck and just looking out on the water. The loft area has plenty of games, dvds, etc. Comfortable beds and plenty of room.

Asked to check in an hour early, great response to say yes. Got to the property, two key lockboxes, they are not marked as the email said. Door was open when we arrived. Stepped in, sink full of crusty, dirty dishes. Sink had hair in it, floor needed swept, couch had crumbs and stains on it. Asked if our early arrival disrupted the cleaning, no response the whole stay. Made us question if anything was clean. Family of 4, was provided 3 towels. Went to make the hide a bed for our son, they had sheets but the only blankets were balled up on the floor of the closets. Smoke detector goes off if you try to use the stove, before you even put in food. View was great, close to Newport, Depoe Bay and Lincoln City. Was really put off by how dirty it was. Will stick to hotels from here out.

Had a great time

One day into our vacation, we noticed a propane leak at our rental. We contacted property management, and they immediately moved us to another location within minutes.The new rental was just as good, if not better! We had a nice peaceful time in Depoe Bay.

Wonderful retreat with incredible view

Cozy, comfortable, clean unit and right in line with description. Incredible weather, wave, bird, and WHALE watching throughout our 3-day stay. Will definitely plan to return and would recommend to anyone. Was especially great to have our sweet little old lady dog along. Would not recommend for larger active canines.

Stunning views

We stayed 4-nights for our 11 year anniversary to enjoy the sights from Lincoln City to Newport. This location was perfect with spectacular views. The home could use a little TLC, however the beds were comfortable and the views were breathtaking. We highly recommend bringing binoculars to fully enjoy the whale watching and fishing/whale watching boats. We even met the owners and they were very friendly. We’re so glad they offer their space for others to enjoy.

Beautiful View

The view was spectacular. Nice deck for the dogs to hang out on as well. Kitchen was super small, but it was fine as I went out to dinner and breakfast the next morning. The upstairs was lovely and comfortable.
