Nice place BUT it always smelled like a sewer back up from the first floor up to the 3rd floor every day around mid day. It was really bad. Everyday smelled. Walking in from the street into the hotel and having that stench hit you was horrendous. They definitely need to call a plumber or something. I requested a room clean in the middle of my stay and requested it with the front office. The never showed up. My room never got cleaned in 5 days. I requested 2 times. However I did ask for an extra towel and blanket and was given that.

This is a gorgeous art deco building with a great main-floor bar and fun activities in the basement. Our experience was less than ideal due to having to evacuate into the freezing cold 2 out of 3 nights due to fire alarms - once at 7 am and once around 6:30 pm. They need to have more stringent signage, warnings and policies to prevent people from blazing up in their rooms and inconveniencing hundreds of other guests. Parking is valet only and there is no self-park option, which is ok until you want to leave at the same time as dozens of visitors at the hotel for a wedding or other event, so you get stuck waiting for up to 30 minutes and potentially being late for your own reservations off site. It would have been nice to have warnings so we could plan accordingly or park temporarily on the street so we could be free to get out on time.

Nice hotel- if other guests don’t smoke pot inside

The only problem we had was that caused by other inconsiderate guests - our neighbors smoked pot and our room stank for two days. The room was fresh clean and comfortable overall with the only disappointment being that for our meager budget this was an expensive hotel and we had a room that overlooked an enclosed courtyard rather than the city itself.

We stay at Cambria whenever we want to do an overnight downtown. It’s not right in the middle of the action downtown, which we like, but close enough to take an affordable uber. The decor is stunning, the staff are always very friendly and helpful, and it’s very clean. The only things I would recommend is getting a better brand of bottled water for the rooms, and also having something in the rooms that gives more info on everything the hotel has to offer, like the restaurants, bars, bowling/golf, etc.

Beautiful but basic otherwise.
