As a frequent business traveller to Dubai, I always loved staying at St Regis Downtown Dubai. This was my 5th stay at the same hotel. However, during this stay I was informed that their butler service policy was changed few months ago, especially with coffee and tea service, which definitely impacted my experience and the expectations I had during my stay. I’ve always thought of this coffee & tea service as a small but important part of my stay as it fits perfectly with my daily routine and work schedule, and this is the most thing that differentiated this hotel vs others.
Changing that policy has lowered my overall preference towards St Regis and I would consider other hotels that has similar pricing and same level of service.
Other than the butler service issue, I was initially given a room at a smoking floor. Even though the room itself is smoke-free, the there was still smoking smell and I requested a room change, which was done smoothly.
