We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our Ireland trip, while we explored Dublin some more. It was a perfect place for us. We were a family of 3 and we had plenty of room and the location was fantastic. The hotel has the older charm and decor, but it has great character and is clean. More importantly the staff was super friendly and helpful. The 2 ladies that never seemed to not be at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. I had the pleasure of watching them interact with an older lady that needed a 4:30 wake-up call and help arranging for a ride to the airport. They were both extremely friendly to her and made sure that she had all the arrangements perfect to suit her needs. Never making it seem that they were trying to rush through because there were 2 of us waiting for help. I appreciated their attention to detail for her. I also appreciated the doorman asking for room number/name late at night when returning to the hotel. We always felt very safe in this area and in the hotel. We would absolutely stay here again and if we ever get the opportunity to return to Dublin. (Sorry that my pictures are from right as we were leaving).
Great location, beautiful historical hotel. Beds very comfortable. We are from the US, traveling as a family with a teenage daughter. We were looking for a pretty place in the center that is quiet at night. We also needed parking as we were leaving the city the next day for a road trip.
The hotel is close to everything yet on a quiet street.
Parking was easy in a nearby garage but only discounted price (I think we paid eur 27)
Breakfast is great but kind of expensive. The coffee that is served with breakfast is thin and terrible but staff will make you an espresso if you need the kick.
Issue w breakers: in several occasions, the outlets and lamps quit working in our room 216. The staff resolved it quickly by resetting the breakers. Kind of weird though. I have not had that experience in other hotels.
Concierge (Mr Paddy) was awesome, cheerful and efficient, and we enjoyed meeting him.
We will stay again.
The property is within walking distance to many attractions but located on a quiet street. Our room was cramped, but the bedding was comfortable. We would stay here again.
The facilities looks a bit old, room is a bit small but there is a bath tub, so I could get relaxed for bath taking.
Selectable breakfast was very nice.
The location is one or two blocks away from crowded area, and I could find good restaurants and shopping area soon.
- Small, very hot room in the summer.
- They have a policy of dropping off your key to the front desk and picking it up again every time you leave the building â not ideal.
Had a great stay in this cozy, classic hotel. Loved that it wasn't ultra-modern. Definitely catered to an older, more conservative crowd. Easy paid parking nearby. Downsides: no A/C so it was a bit stuffy in summer. And since it is near government buildings there were protests that carried through the open windows. Didn't mind though cause I support their liberal causes... and I'm a heavy sleeper!
