Come relax in a Tranquil Cottage on Island Lake!

Charming LAKEFRONT home, right on the shore of Island Lake Kubash Bay, straight north of Duluth (25/30 min drive from Downtown/Canal Park). Living room w/ gas fireplace & large window to beautiful sunset views, and water’s edge deck! Redecorated in 2022! HOSTS STAY in the LOWER LEVEL apt of the house, to give guests the top 2 floors to themselves (w/ their own private entrance). 20-25 min to Canal Park/downtown/mall area, 17 min from the mall, in a setting that is the best of both worlds: “Northwoods” peace & nature, w/ amenities & nearby conveniences of a rural city area!

*** DOCK IS REMOVED from the lake approximately Oct 15th. BACK IN the lake approx. May 10th. (Likely paddleboat & inflatable SUP also, but this is more weather-dependent)

* Many STAIRS from street level down to the house & lake (see pics).

Super easy to find (especially with the great communication from the hosts)! The location was outstanding—quiet, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful, yet still close enough to Duluth and multiple state parks for easy exploring. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect Island Lake Reservoir Retreat!

Great house on a quiet bay! The accommodations were modern, clean & comfortable. Two of the best VRBO hosts! Clear communication before, during, and after our stay. So many great amenities inside and out (fire pit, small beach, great dock and water toys)! We will book again! Thank you for a great stay!

Family getaway

Amazing time

I brought my mom here for her 65th birthday and mothers day. So we were spoiled with the northern lights. Ange and Erich have a little piece of heaven. You wouldn't know it by just parking by their garage since they're place is over the hill down to the lake. They were so good with being respective of space since they stay downstairs. Beautiful spot and a nice hidden gem. Would love to go back!

Visit to the North Woods

Our Island Lake stay was just wonderful. The property was very comfortable and well appointed. The location gave us instant access to lakes and woods as well a couple of nice local restaurants. We have already booked a return trip.

Great space for a couple of days

Everything was as expected, the space was big and bright -- even though it was a little overcast the days we were there. Would recommend for anyone looking for a place to anchor while visiting Duluth that also feels a little more away from things.

Wonderful Stay

We can't say enough about the place or the hosts. The place was very clean and comfortable. There are many nice features about the place; modern kitchen, zoned air conditioning, wifi and electronics. We brought a boat and could dock it in a safe and protected cove, away from the winds and waves of the main lake. The hosts were very helpful and kind. They were easy to contact to ask questions, yet were very respectful of our privacy. We will definitely be going back for another stay.

 The owners were great to communicate with and had a nice ice cream treat upon our arrival. The cottage was clean, very well stocked, and the view of the bay was fantastic. We would stay again!!!

Highly recommend

This is a lovely, extremely well-appointed cabin/house on a little bay that extends into a larger body of water. The kitchen has everything you would need if you are a foodie. The layout of the house is comfortable with a large two tiered deck and a lovely screened porch area. The vibe is tranquil despite the fact you can see neighboring houses. Duluth and Two Harbors is an easy 25 mins. drive which makes it perfectly close to most things. There is a little convenience store within a mile. The owners are very attentive and for me, the little kitty, Susie was a mega bonus, but if you don't like cats, this one does not bug you unless you encourage attention and want her around.
