Quiet room in historic hotel, with queen bed, attached bath and kitchenette.
We renovated and reopened the historical Simpson Hotel (est. 1914) in Duncan, Arizona, a town of 700 on the Gila River in a quiet region of southeastern Arizona. The room is an old storefront attached to the hotel building, accessed through the hotel lobby. It is cozy but very private and comfortable. The kitchenette has a small fridge, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker and bar sink (no stovetop). Essential dishes are provided. In addition to the queen bed, there are a small table and two chairs in the room. The back door opens onto a small shade garden, through which you can access the many rambling gardens and sitting areas of the hotel property. Guests are welcome to relax in our hotel parlor and use the dining area.
We stayed in the suite with the kitchenette. The bed was comfy and the room was perfect for two people to relax after our adventures. The hosts are super nice and very knowledgeable about the area. The backyard was eclectic and very comfortable. Lots of kitty petting going on by us. Overall a very pleasant 40 yr wedding anniversary.
Nice, quaint room in an old building. It was as nice as could be without total remodeling; which would totally negate the historic nature of the room. We absolutely enjoyed our stay!
This was a unique, nostalgic place to stay! Especially for a 50th birthday celebration trip! The owner was super hospitable and friendly. Perfect for our stop in Duncan!
