Village House
This light and airy modern house is situated directly on the Wild Atlantic Way in the centre of coastal Dunkineely village, with all its amenities. A few steps will take you to the village store, butchers and no less than three pubs.
This delightful property is in a stunning, scenic area, just a few minutes' drive from the sea-shore and a short distance from beautiful mountain views. Slieve Liagh, the highest cliffs in Europe, are within forty minutesâ drive.
This was a very nice stay. It was spacious and clean. We were able to park our 2 cars in the back. We lived being able to walk to a nearby pub fur a pint or to grab some snacks at the convenience store. We were able to cook family dinners (loved the air fryer, lots of plates). We were able to wash and hang some laundry (so kind of you to leave detergent for us to do so). I was thankful for the 3 bathrooms and on demand hot water. And having a dishwasher for easy clean up was nice, too. We were able to drive to visit family and see local sights. St. John's Point was stunning!!
The property was comfortable, 2 bedrooms on the ground floor & 2 upstairs. There were 2 bathrooms on the ground level and one upstairs. Easy trip into both Killybegs & Donegal Town.
Overall, the place was OK and clean but we did have a few problems. Both downstairs showers flooded & the main one was clogged and gross. We all had to use the upstairs shower which was also dangerous and slippery with a broken shower door. Four of us stayed at this location and we were ONLY given one towel each with no other hand towels. There was NO internet even though the listing said there was. This was important to us in order to maintain contact back home. Also, not really a view of the water as advertised.
The house has plenty of room with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, which makes for quick showers for everyone in the morning. The kitchen is nicely equipped and everything including the wash machine worked well.
The town has a nice market just three doors down and is minutes from Donegal and other sites like Sliebh League cliffs.
The rooms were comfy and quiet and our hosts were attentive and gracious.
Thanks!
This was exactly what we were looking for - a quiet place just minutes from Donegal town. A great base for exploring Slieve League and northwards. If youâre looking to be near crowded pubs with live music, this is not the place. But if you want to dive into real Irish life, you definitely should stay here.
