A spacious and comfortable cottage
Stable Yard Cottage is a beautiful, spacious yet cosy cottage located in a secluded courtyard close to the heart of a little Scottish village. It has charming country views south across Blackadder River to Greenlaw Mill Farm and Catmoss Hill forming one of three sides of an open courtyard, together with walled yard and the estate wall of Castletoun House. Unusually for a village property the position offers a certain seclusion without being isolated.
The cottage has been sympathetically refurbished and furnished with a pleasing mix of contemporary and period furniture which gives it warm and homely feel. It is very spacious with all the bedrooms and two bathrooms situated upstairs leaving the kitchen, living/dining room and a utility room (with a toilet) downstairs. All rooms (except the laundry room) have open southerly country views giving the cottage this sunny and light feel to it.
This cottage is children and pet friendly and provides and excellent opportunity for the families get-together.
Zuzana and her family were absolutely wonderful..
The cottage was quaint, the aga was a fab addition
We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and the weather was so good to us, we had the sun all day long.
We really didn't want to come home
Lovely views from all windows. Well laid out property with cosy aga and log burning fire. Feels very relaxed and perfect position for either chilling around house and garden or great central position for sightseeing...easy drive to Scottish coast, Northumberland or Edinburgh.
Unfortunately pub was shut due to COVID but handy shop and we were very happy to chill around the cottage with a nice bottle of red!
Definitely recommend this property.
What an absolute gem of a property in the Scottish Borders. The Stables Cottage exceeded our expectations. Plenty of space inside and out with open views of the countryside. Ideal location for visits to Berwickshire our recommendations would include Norham Castle. The Aga was an adventure of its own but we got there.
We loved our stay in Greenlaw. The cottage was cozy and relaxing in a beautiful setting. We found a friendly pub with delicious food only a short walk away. The tourist options we're an easy drive.
