Just a short walk from the main lifts and plaza, this cozy retreat blends modern comfort with unbeatable convenience—putting you close to shops, dining, and all the mountain action while still offering a peaceful place to unwind after a day on the slopes. Inside, you’ll enjoy a full modern kitchen, a pub‑style dining table, and an inviting living area with a warm electric fireplace and comfortable seating.

Step out onto the private elevated balcony to breathe in the fresh alpine air, or take advantage of the clean, contemporary bathroom and thoughtful extras like a private ski locker and on‑site coin laundry. With its updated design, relaxing atmosphere, and prime resort location, Chic Peak is the ideal home base for your Purgatory getaway.

WHERE YOU'LL SLEEP:

RESORT CLUB ACCESS: For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. When booking, just advise if you would like the extra 4% resort fee added.

PURGATORY SKI MOUNTAIN LOCATION: This condo is located at Purgatory Ski Resort in the San Juan Mountains. Purgatory is 25 minutes north of downtown Durango and is known as a family-friendly ski resort. It has 105 trails, including 5 terrain parks, over 1,500 skiable acres and 12 lift. The resort boasts an average annual snowfall of 260 inches. Purgatory Resort offers a variety of activities and amenities that cater to families, including ski lessons, childcare and a variety of restaurants. It is a more affordable option that some of the other ski resorts in Colorado, has a good mix of terrain for all ability levels, and stunning views. If you're looking for a resort that offers something for everyone, staying at this condo at Purgatory is a great option!

SUMMER AT PURGATORY: Purgatory boasts a bike park accessible by chair lift, an alpine slide, mountain coaster, and treasure panning. There are also hiking trails, jeep tours, and watercraft rentals on Twilight Lake. Purgatory hosts various events throughout the summer, such as live music concerts, festivals and bike races.

NO PETS: Due to HOA rules, the condo (and all condos in the building) is not pet friendly. Please do not bring your pets/emotional support animals.

COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.

VRC CANCELLATION POLICY: At Vacation Rental Collective, we understand the importance of flexibility for travelers when it comes to cancellations. When booking directly with Vacation Rental Collective, we offer a Moderate Cancellation Policy for this Property: A guest will receive a 100% refund if canceled/changed at least 30 days before check-in; a 50% refund if canceled/changed 14-30 days before check-in; and no refund if canceled/changed 13 days or less before check-in. The condo was up to date and clean. The bed was very comfortable and I never got cold. The fireplace was such a nice touch with the multiple color changes. It is walking distance to the slopes. The kitchen was fully furnished with cooking supplies. We had a great time.

Great place to enjoy the mountain

Overall, everything was wonderful. It was a great condo for my wife and I to stay in. Super quick walk to the slopes meaning two minutes. Please make this one your first choice if it’s available, you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful stay!

Me and my boyfriend both stayed in the condo, and it was a perfect size for 2 people. Everything was very clean and the check-in and out process was straightforward and easy. The lifts were a short walk away. Our only complaint is how hot the condo was, and there seemed to be no fan or airflow. Other than that,we had a wonderful stay!

Perfect condo for solo traveler

Everything was perfect for my 4 day ski trip. Close to slopes and the village. The condo is newly renovated and so cute and cozy. The only negative is the walls are paper thin so you can hear every thing above and next door. Unfortunately, this is something the owner probably has no control over.

Great Studio

Everything was as advertised. We enjoyed our stay. The studio was newly renovated and clean. Wish there was an exhaust fan, a full length mirror and an ironing board, otherwise we had everything we needed. The patio was not clean, looks like they had been doing some drywall work and left the mess out there on the patio. But we still enjoyed even that area.

Weekend get away

The place was clean. There was something nasty on the wall walking in between the bed and door that I cleaned up. The bed is awful. Sinks in, in the middle. There was a heard of elephants above us starting at 6:30 am each morning. Other than that it was fine.

Anniversary Get-Away

The property was EXACTLY as described, and communication with the property owner was wonderful! All questions were answered promptly....and the remodel looks splendid! We loved sitting on the balcony to watch the rising sun -- and it was beautiful in the evening as well. The bed mattress was a little too soft and springy (fell to the middle when my partner rolled over), but this is not a deep enough concern to lower my rating -- just want to mention it as the only opportunity for improvement. Everything else was completely sufficient for cooking in the kitchen, relaxing in the living area, and showering/cleaning up in the bathroom. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

It was a short walk to the lifts which is fine if you’re not carrying a lot of equipment. The one thing we really could have used was a snow shovel. We were lucky enough to be able to borrow from other people who were digging out their cars. Over all it was a good experience.

Good location to explore both the mountain trails, Durango, Ouray, Telluride, etc. Enough space for two people, good set of cooking utensils, good basic supplies for both personal care and cleaning. The reservation process/bill was a bit convoluted. I booked through VRBO and there were layers of rates/fees at the owner/Vacation Collective/VRBO levels. Access was granted to the pool/spa facility at the Purgatory resort hotel was granted, although I received different guidance if it was included or not.

The space was a good size for a family of 3. Sleeper sofa was a good size for our 12 year old son. Nice kitchen and fireplace. The bed sunk in the middle so made it hard to get a good night sleep. Could use more hooks to hang ski clothes and shelves/cabinets for clothes. Had to clear 2 shelves of linens to put our clothes away. Carpet in closet/household item closet was dirty. Didn't make me want to hang our clothes in the closet. Unit was further than I would've wanted to the ski lift.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was under construction: dodging roof demo at entrance; no parking as it was all coned off. Should it even been rented? Heat was on overdrive - we turned the heat off and slept with the sliding door open. Woke to a lift truck and workers looking straight into the bedroom! Owner did NOTHING when we complained about the heat (we're from Florida and outside temp 50s -- how on earth could the unit be SO HOT?). See the tree view in the photo - NOT THERE - view is the back of other units. We had options and chose this unit for the advertised serenity that did not exist.
