Good enough for a short business trip

It was ok for a short business trip. Well located, the staff were helpful and friendly. Only minor issue, was no air conditioning when there was a mini heatwave going on out of season.

All was very good until the morning. My husband took his shower first, but the drain was clogged. The bathroom flooded with about two inches of water, and the water continues to leak out of the bathroom. I told the front desk immediately. They said they would send someone right up so we went to breakfast. We returned to our room and no one had been there. We packed up and I could not enter the bathroom at all. As we were leaving, two people showed up to take care of the bathroom. I went to the front desk and explained that I will be complaining and requesting a refund. He then offered me another room, but we were leaving and it was almost check out time.

There should be a note on the hotel stating that parking is “ very limited”. When we asked where we could park if not at the hotel we basically got a response “not sure” super helpful. Our room smelled like rotting garbage. So much so, I went looking for a missed bag. Nope, just smelly. similarly, in the hallways. We got hit with a 190€ additional bill for breakfast, admittedly, this site did say surcharge for breakfast. However, not once did the restaurant greeter say anything about this charge. Only on the last day did the very rude greeter say there was a charge. We said ok and had breakfast somewhere else. Ultimately, It was a negative experience in a hotel I was looking forward to staying in. Our German is not perfect but definitely well enough to ensure there was no language barrier.
