2 Mins Walk from Edinburgh's Best Beach!

This is a wonderful, spacious, traditional seaside townhouse, built at a time when wealthy Edinburgh families also bought a house by the sea in order to cool off on those hot summer days.

Laid out over 3 floors, the wide staircases are a feature, particularly the winding staircase between the first and second floors (note; they're a bit too wide for standard stair gates, so may not be ideal for young children). The Living Room is positioned on the first floor, as was the norm for the time, with 3 large windows that let the light stream in. From the top floor there are views over the roof tops to Arthur's Seat from the front and across the Firth of Forth to Fife at the rear.

The house offers 4 bedrooms, Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Family Bathroom with Jacuzzi bath, a WC on each floor, full gas central heating, high pressure hot water system, Primary Bedroom with ensuite, WiFi, Smart TV, travel cot, high chair, iron and ironing board, hair dryers, linen and towels. Hopefully everything you need!

Maison trÚs chaleureuse et agréable

Facile à vivre, confortable et bien équipée, nous avons passé un merveilleux Noël joyeux et serein dans cette magnifique maison. Portobello avec sa plage, boutiques, restaurants et pubs est un lieu tout à fait charmant, à 20 mn en bus de Waverley. Notre hÎte, Patrick est réactif et trÚs aidant. Il nous tarde d'y revenir.

Superbe maison de ville Ă  deux pas de la plage et Ă  25 minutes en bus du centre d'Edimbourg.

La maison de Patrick est chaleureuse, accueillante, fonctionnelle est trĂšs propre. Aucune mauvaise surprise en arrivant, tout Ă©tait comme dans l'annonce! Ce logement est d'autant plus agrĂ©able qu'il a un charme trĂšs Ă©cossais: vieux parquet, canapĂ©s cuir mais cuisine et salles de bains modernes et fonctionnelles. Les soirĂ©es dans le salon avec les vinyles, les gros canapĂ©s Ă©taient trĂšs agrĂ©ables. La cuisine est trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e. Il ne manque rien Ă  cette belle maison! IdĂ©al en groupe, nous Ă©tions 7! Le rĂ©seau de bus de ville est Ă  200m Ă  pied, Ă©galement sur le rĂ©seau des bus de nuit. La plage est Ă  5 minutes et de nombreux pub et petits restos sont proches. L'accueil par Roselyn (vers 21h) fut trĂšs efficace, sympathique et complet! Le quartier est trĂšs calme. Un petit supermarchĂ© se situe Ă  2 minutes Ă  pied. En somme la maison de Patrick est idĂ©alement placĂ©e et offre de trĂšs belles prestations! Patrick a Ă©tĂ© trĂšs disponible durant la prĂ©paration du sĂ©jour et s'est mĂȘme proposĂ© de rĂ©server notre taxi retour vers l'aĂ©roport. Les informations qu'il a communiquĂ©e Ă©taient prĂ©cises, fiables et de bon conseils! Encore merci ce fut un sĂ©jour rĂ©ussi! Je recommanderai et ferai de la publicitĂ© pour ce trĂšs beau logement!

Patrick couldn’t have been more helpful in anticipation of our visit. The house is very well equipped, beds comfortable and spotless, showers lovely and hot. The bus service is minutes away direct to the city and plenty shops/bakeries nearby for provisions. The only mark-down is on the ‘child-friendly’ question which Patrick answers in the description of the property so on your own head be it! The stairs not suitable for stair gates would be the only issue with smallies - otherwise a great spot near the beachfront with the kids. We all enjoyed our stay and the friendly host Roslyn was lovely too. Many thanks!

An absolutely wonderful home for a large family or group of friends to stay at! There were 7 of us in our party and the home was a great size for us. All of us having beds, ease of use of the restrooms, and a dining room large enough to accomodate those late night meals after a day exploring the city. Couldn't have been better for us!

Cannot say enough good about the property. Firstly, we were Not downtown Edinburgh, which whilst delightful, is tiring and retreating to the coastal stay was so welcome. A close walk to the beach, lovely bistros and shops. Downtown Porto Bello has everything you need, and the coop is half a block from the house. I really couldn't have planned it better. The one year old loved the playgrounds and beach and so many dogs. I loved coming back to the house after a long touring day and eating well in our well appointed kitchen and having a quiet retreat away from the glitz of Prince Ave. Interior was interesting as the original building design is left in place. The parlor is lovely and the dining room was great to gather the family. We didn't spend time outside garden behind the house as the weather was so beautiful it was usually dark on our return. The beds were firm and bedding was lovely. We had room to chill out (baby needed naps) and again, so close to everything. Also, the bus to town is direct and pleasant and we parked the car and didn't move it till we went to Bannockberg. So nice not having to find parking downtown. As you can tell, we really enjoyed the house, the area and the people. Thank you Patrick and your neighbor too!

Het huis ligt in een rustige straat, parkeren lukte goed in de nabije omgeving. Het is vlakbij het strand, waar wat eet en drinktentjes zijn. Ook vlakbij de High Street met winkels, supermarkten, restaurants en de bushalte. Prima verbinding naar Edinburgh (30-40 min). Het huis is geweldig met een grote keuken voorzien van alles dat je nodig hebt, een gezellige zitkamer en 4 ruime slaapkamers en 2 badkamers. Er is ook een tuin met een lounge set en middag zon.Kortom top locatie en top huis!

Amazing!

Every now and then you come across a place that is so amazing that you actually consider NOT recommending it to others just so you can keep it to yourself.This place is a slice of heaven. Comforable, cozy, clean with a full kitchen. Next to Portobello beach, which was perfect for morning strolls with Lorne rolls and a coffee in hand. Close enough to Edinburgh to do all the touristy stuff but far enough away to avoid the crowds.

Perfect short stay.

Beautiful house to stay in. Everything you would need was there. Such a well equipped kitchen, comfy lounge and very comfortable beds. A few minutes walk from the beach. Local buses near by to explore the area. A perfect break away for a catch up with family. Would definitely recommend staying here.
