Fantastic location walkable to all the major sites. Staff is amazing as is everybody in Scotland. Room had a king size bed and fantastic bedding, but the room was a bit small. We stayed on the ninth floor one below the top and could hear when people flushed the toilet above us with the water running through the pipes. So I would request a room on the top floor. Eat their restaurant, and that two was phenomenal and reasonably priced.

Best place to stay in Edinburgh!

Perfect place to stay in Edinburgh! Centrally located, easy access to everything, shopping, pubs, & restaurants and Edinburgh Castle! The staff was amazing and the hotel restaurants not only convenient but great alternative to pub food & great way to end a long day of sightseeing. We found the entire staff to be courteous and helpful! Definitely recommend as the place to stay in Edinburgh!

We stayed for two nights to explore Edinburgh. The staff was amazing and went the extra mile to make sure we had a pleasant stay. The common areas were clean and beautifully decorated. There were multiple restaurants and bars that we didn’t bet the opportunity to try out, but wish we did. The rooms were beautiful. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace for a drink and view of the city. Only downside was how small our room was. With our suitcases it was hard to walk around with just two of us in there. Next time I’d book a larger room. Overall, would highly recommend.

Booked 2 rooms on Expedia, but hotel had no record of 1 of the rooms. Took hours to resolve the issue. Room was noisy at night - could hear the thumping base from a nearby bar/nightclub. Otherwise nice hotel.

I liked the fact that it was a historic building, but the room was fully modern with great amenities. I loved the view of the castle from my room as well. The staff were above and beyond fabulous. I only have one complaint. The toilet was in its own little compartment and a bright light came on when one entered.This light could not be turned off. As someone who gets up during the night to use the toilet, that light was very shocking to the system. It would be wonderful if there was an option to disable it.
